Also from Trumps deranged mind:

Turns out he said would when he meant to say would.  Surprise!  How long did it take for him to u turn on his u turn?  4 days is it?  Also in the news, Trump has 88% support amongst Republicans.  How the hell did a moron like Trump get to be the God King of so many people?  How are people not seeing this?  I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here.

The thing with Trump is that his job isn't to be consistent, or to be right, or to make any sense, or to offer answers to any sort of questions, his job is to make lots and lots of noise and have you talking about whatever crap he's talking about today rather than talking about the systematic destruction of public services in the US; the process of removing healthcare, education, maintenance of infrastructure and budgetary control out of government and into the hands of the private interests that fund the Republican party. In fairness to him, he does a brilliant job of having us talking about spies and porn stars and walls and Russians while his government work hard to reduce the role of government and its ability to have an influence on private interest.

I know you're not talking literally, OBE, but I thought I'd interject, anyway. But his actual job (which he's failing at bigly) is to direct the executive branch of the federal US government and to act as C-in-C of the US military. His job is exactly to be consistent, to be right, to make sense etc. By failing to perfrom his actual role and instead doing almost the opposite, he's causing immense damage.

Ah, that's the job in principle. I suspect his sponsors have a different agenda. You're right in everything you say, a President should be exactly what you've said, but Trump isn't just wrong and bad, he's wrong and bad consistently over a long period of time on a whole host of issues and with the same beneficiaries - I don't think it's an accident.

He's like a giant Ron Swanson.

The very rich anywhere - but mostly the Koch brothers and Robert & Rebekah Mercer.

You might as well be talking to the wall. People have been told it's those nasty Russians, therefore it is those nasty Russians. Now, stop with this terrorist propaganda and get back to thinking as you are told.

Its perfectly possible to have two sets of overlords who appear poles apart but whose objectives, though different are compatible with each other

Rich People - want huge tax cuts

Putin - wants the break up of the EU and NATO

Two overlords get him elected, two overlords both get their payback and never the twain shall meet.

One Puppet - Two Masters

Perhaps...

However, there is a line of thinking that would see a fractured EU as in the US strategic interest given the emerging multi-polar nature of the world. Must prevent unification of the world island, see MacKinder. It doesn't need Putin... also I'd love to know how NATO has been weakened by Trump. Movement of forces to the Russian border, attempts to broaden the organizations terms of reference and increased defence spending... so much weaker.

No one said NATO had been weakened, just that it was Putin's aim

The only increased spending on NATO was agreed years ago. NATO spending hasn't changed recently and the only person to claim otherwise is Orange in colour
