Anthony Posted November 6, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted November 6, 2013 No, the upgraded one came out a few months ago. Just make sure you get the new version.
The_Rev
Indeed. Ask for the 2013 edition. It's very very nice.
Morpheus
Just wondering is this a good deal? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-ASUS-Google-Nexus-7-FHD-7-16GB-Wi-FI-Android-4-3-2nd-Generation-Tablet-/290957834175?pt=UK_iPad_Tablets_eReaders&hash=item43be7037bf
Tegis Posted November 8, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted November 8, 2013 My old man wants a cheap tablet. Does the older Nexus 7 still do a good job? He will barely pay for that one let alone the new.
BOF Posted November 8, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 8, 2013 TBH I'm finding it hard to justify buying a bigger version of something I already own too. I've decided I'm buying myself a gadget for this Christmas but I've pretty much decided it won't be a tablet.
PaulC
I looked at the nexus 7 then bought the asus memo pad hd7 because I didn't like the fact you can't expand the memory. No micro SD SLOT
limpid Posted November 8, 2013 Administrator Share Posted November 8, 2013 ... and was it the right choice? (I'm still using a very early original N7 with 8GB which nearly got up to half full once.)
Dodgyknees
I'm jumping on the bandwagon, spotted a Nexus 7 {2012) new for £89 today, put it by and am getting it tomorrow. Excite.

Obviously the specs aren't as good as the nexus 7 but to me storage is more important
Dodgyknees
Got the Nexus 7 yesterday (will let you know what I think Morpheus) but got a phone call just now... "You won a galaxy tab..." Typical! Entered a poetry comp about 3 months back. :-D
The_Lions_Roar
Its all gone a bit quiet on the new nexus 10 device. Rumours were originally saying the same launch date as the nexus 5. Looking to upgrade my iPad to this when it cones out.

Obviously the specs aren't as good as the nexus 7 but to me storage is more important Purchasing a blue one of these tomorrow for the princely sum of £99. If you can't quite afford the new nexus 7 then get one of these. The moto g of tablets imo.
villarule123 Posted December 25, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted December 25, 2013 Got the missus' mum a Galaxy Tab 3 for today, and it seemed pretty slow from what I'd used of it. It that normal?
Tegis Posted December 25, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted December 25, 2013 I always found the Tab 1 and 2 to be sluggish for their respective timeperiods. They work considerably better on custom roms not bugged down with Samsungs heavy overlay. It wouldn't surprise me if the 3 does the same. I have not come across the Note-tablets so can't comment on them.
mykeyb
I'm thinking of upgrading my Nexus 7 to an LG G Pad mainly because it has an 8.3 inch screen and also because there is now a GPE out so can update the ROM and remove the LG bloat.
