He reached his ceiling after about 4 PL games, we know it and he must surely now know it. What is keeping him motivated really, he has peaked. Abymsal, utterly abysmal business. I know he's a scapegoat on here, but he didn't cost the earth (under £2m - unlike NRC, Makoun, Djemba Djemba, Sidwell, Tonev, N'Zogbia et al) and has proven he can play in this league. Maybe not top four or European challenging teams but certainly mid to lower Premier league and like it or not, that's where we are as a club (although we can dream about being mid-table). Out of all the 'young and hungry' experimental signings, he's probably done the best and appears to be a decent pro on and off the pitch (haven't known him to tweet pictures of his car or wiping his arse with banknotes!) When we go down, I'd like us to keep hold of Westwood as he would be an asset in the Championship. Hasn't really improved in four years, but didn't cost much in the first place. As he has 4 years left to run on his contract I suspect he will be staying with us for a while. For the vast majority of his 4 years he's proven inept at this level. Just because you are a regular in arguably the shittest midfield ever to grace this league, it doesn't mean you've proven you can play at this level. With most of the team this season, he's performed badly. Nothing better or worse than most (apart from Sanchez who has been God-awful yet again).
