fair play to Capello he showed balls and also loyalty to his players not for 1st time. Board shouldnt go over the managers head

wonder if John Terry feels any kind of guilt this morning...

not likely

tosser

Also, the judge who postponed the Terry hearing until 9th July - he/she has unwittingly (or otherwise) started this manager merry-go-round off !! :P

Seems that the FA asked Terry to step down first but he refused...

John Terry refused a plea from the Professional Footballers' Association to step down as England captain until after his trial for allegedly racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.

Standard Sport can reveal that the players' union approached the Chelsea skipper after his case was adjourned until July 9, eight days after the Euro 2012 Final.

The PFA made it clear to Terry - who denies the charge - that if he gave up the role they would issue a statement saying it was not an admission of guilt and that the defender was innocent until the court had reached a verdict.

However, Standard Sport understands the offer was rejected by Terry's advisers who felt such a move might have had an adverse impact on his trial.

It was after those talks collapsed, that the Football Association stepped in and stripped the player of the captaincy - a decision that so outraged Fabio Capello that he quit as England manager.

Pearce out.
But he's English...

Redknapp in.

And when Redknapp manages to achieve the same mediocre results (by the standards that you seem to be aiming for), who or what then?

Hodgson.

I'd be happier with Woy at the helm than 'arry.

Solid manager, bags of experience, not necessarily an Earth shattering manager but a steady pair of hands. He's apparently also a big fan of the improvements that the FA is making in the England set up (the top class Burton headquarters and all that) and would be keen to further improve that.

I don't think he'll set the Earth on fire as manager if he does take it, but I can think of worse to go with.

If he does take it, we also can suspect that when he fails, which he will, because we're not good enough but demand to be, that the criticism he'll get will stem from him being old fashioned and unimaginative in his tactics, and that our next manager will need to have some flair about him, and thus need to be a foreigner.
