Mantis
If we are going to win this, it would be nice if we could do it near the end instead of having to sit through 70 minutes of tense defending like against Man City. My word that was tense.
CI
It was tense, but we showed it's doable And we've got a better keeper now
Mantis
The goalkeeper has always been the least of our worries. Brad was great. Given is just as good if not better.
AndFos
Yeah, what could have been if we had a defence and a midfield?!
dounavilla
Im impressed witht the optimism however we will lose this 2-0 if not more
Hanky
Same team I wanted against Swansea. Given Herd-Cuellar-Dunne-Warnock Bannan-Petrov-Jenas Nzogbia-Bent-Agbonlahor More than likely it will be the same team as Swansea, other than Petrov in for Delph if he is fit. Czechlad
-------------------------Given----------------------------- ---Cuellar--------Dunne---Collins---------Warnock---- ------Hutton-----Herd--------Petrov--------Heskey----- ----------------------Agbonlahor-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------Bent------------------------------ McLeish will call it the impenetrable line-up and we go down 4-0 by half. Bannan, Jenas, and Albrighton come on and we score 3 goals so the fans realize that they should be starting, but come next week, McLeish changes nothing. Anyone want to actually bet we see this XI? flamingsombrero
The result is pretty obvious so I'll give a performance prediction instead.

villa_shere
Not looking forward to this at all. Formation i would play Given Herd, Cuellar, Dunne, Warnock Delph Petrov (if fit) N'Zog Bannan Gabby Bent

Keyblade
To actually have a chance of winning, I would go: --------------Given---------------- Hutton-Cuellar-Dunne-Warnock-- ------Bannan----Petrov/Herd------ --------------Jenas----------------- Albrighton---Bent-----Gabby------ But the reality is, we'll see Heskey deftly swapping between the wings and ACM, with Hutton and Cuellar keeping things tight on the right because you know, Ash is probably gonna have a stormer. chappy
I'd love to see ------------Given--------------- Cuellar Clark Dunne Warnock ------------Herd---------------- Alby------Bannan---------Nzog -------------------Gabby-------- ---------Bent-------------------- and just really go at them. More realistically though put Petrov (if fit) or Delph alongside Herd, put Nzogbia back on the right with Gabby on the left and Marc on the bench. And then back in the real world I fully expect to see Hutton and Collins in defence, with Heskey on the wing to 'nullify' Ash. 3-2 Villa.
Shillzz
Oooh, I'm not sure about that one Chappy. Personally wouldnt even have Albrighton on the bench, never mind the starting line up. If you're going to go 442 (which I hope we dont), Id rather play Bannan out wide. My team Given Hutton Collins Dunne Warnock Herd Petrov Bannan Jenas Gabby Bent
coda
Haven't got a clue about this. I'll predict a defeat so anything else is a bonus.
AValon
We're actually on a hiding to nothing here, so why not throw caution to the wind and actually entertain the fans? We might do better than we think. Manure seem to have a crisis of confidence atm. Their lofty position is suddenly under threat. We won't have many better chances to roll them over than this. I've already gone 2-1 and nothings changed. Bent double
Overdubber
Piece of piss, this lot. 6-0 Villa. And that`s just half time! Second half they might pull one back to make it 6-1.
AndyM3000
I just hope Young doesn't score, and if he does I hope he doesn't celebrate. It will break my heart.
wedge
We were actually quite superb last year at home to Yernited and fully deserved to win. Obviously however many you go in front by against them you are never safe but we stormed into a 2-0 lead at the start of the second half and we basically had our reserve team out. I don't think we will surrender like at White Hart Lane and even though I think we will still lose I'll go home happy if we just have a go at them and try to win.
