lexicon
Herd is a bit like Nigel Reo-Coker but without the delusions of attacking grandeur. He keeps it simple, works hard for the team and is solid defensively - nothing spectacular but a very useful squad player.
AvfcRigo82
I would like to see him grow and establish himself here. He looks a tidy player. .
8pints
I like him in a sort of sweeper/DM role, especially in the 3-5-2 formation.
TrentVilla Posted December 12, 2012 Moderator Share Posted December 12, 2012 I think he is a bit nuts, not in a Stephen Ireland way but more in a Craig Gardner way. I kinda like that.
CI
Was very impressive v Stoke last week. He's developed massively over 12 months.
AndyBM
with a choice of either westwood or herd sitting at the back of midfield, weve got a good base to work from, just need to improve the attacking
El-Reacho
He was one of the few positives to come out of the McLeish 'experience' - had a good partnership with Petrov, and was the best RB we had last season.
Zatman
has been impressive as a defensive sort of sweeper. his tackle in the 1st half(think was Suarez) was world class as if mistimed was a penalty.

AndyBM
hes fine as a back up defensive mid or right back, we still need squad players
lp_villa830
A decent anchor for our midfield, but at centre half he is a bit hot headed and rushes in with his challenges.
rjenkins
Had a good time in midfield with Petrov last season, but looks a bit lost playing in defence. I'm starting to think he's another Jonathan Hogg.
benireduk
Yes he's playing out of position but for me he isn't good enough. At CB, even with extra time on the ball, his passing is awful. If you can't pass it from that position, how is he going to make it as. CM. Like many players in our team, Championship level at best Edited December 29, 2012 by benireduk

SquaddieVilla
Chris Herd has been one of the worst performers for us this season, he is always walking a tight rope for a yellow card very game. Playing him at CB is a disaster. Come to think of it how the **** does he get in our team, ah thats right our illustrious manager didn't buy and quality or experience in the summer so we are suffering now. By the way whats the gossip with the girlfriend
Brumstopdogs
Chris Herd should be released first thing tomorrow morning - just get him out.
jacketspuds
Herd is shit. He can't time his tackles and he is unbelievably reckless. Championship level player.
CI
Honestly don't think half the players such as Herd would make it in the championship. They'd get torn to pieces. No way should they be playing for villa.

Ads
Another one that is nowhere near good enough. In fairness he should be in the midfield, as at least he can physically compete.
