Rijkaard nearly got Galatasary relegated last season, signing players like Kewell!. He also got Sparta Rotterdam relegated in his only other club manager role and somehow still manage to get teh Barca job afterwards. Speak to any Gala fan and they will tell you to keep a million miles away from him. He a manager in name only. Keep well away.

Galatasary finished 3rd in 2009/10 - up from 5th the year before.

Kewell signed in 2008/2009. Rijkaard didn't take over till the next year.

Yeah my mistake it was another prem great Lucas Neill. Thats the thing with Rijkaard, he has a name, how else can you explain how he got the oldest Dutch team in their league relegated for the first time in their history and still land the manager job at the biggest football club in the world. I spoken to quite a few Gala fans and they complain that though they had the players to play well, the team lack energy and creativity and were losing heavily to bottom half of the league teams and alot of them thought he may have got them relegated.

Carlo is unlikely to be offered a better job than Villa in the prem for some time, unless Man City have a disapointing season. Then again, they would have the choice of most of the world's managers with what they can offer. Spurs job is a similar sort of job to Villa, both share similar aspirations, may become available in the next year if Harry manages England. But if Carlo wanted to stay in England, he'd be hard pushed to find a better job here for the next year or two. The British public seem to have grown to him quite quickly, and it looks like he is feeling the love!

So if he wants to stay in England, this appointment would be logical and a f**kin jolly good one too!

Spurs are in a better position then us now and have more valuable assets such as Bale and Modric. But yeah he'd have to wait a year probably to get that job, so we are realistically the best job he can get at this moment in time within England.

Can't get my head round someone of Ancelottis calibre managing Villa unless serious, serious money was available to him. Like SERIOUS money.

If he does come and we get rid of Young and Downing we could easily give him 50 mil, if they stay, Carlo already has a potential england front 3 in his side and enough wages free upto to make 3 big signing IMO.

look forward to checking matt kendricks twitter for him to say carlo ancelotti announcement at #avfc imminent. hopefully soon. carlo would be able to attract big players, keep our big players and show europe we are a big club but also carlo will come with a big wage and will want to spend big on players wages. so if it works it will work really well if not then it could be disastourous.
