  1. Would be interested to see if KEA is captain material, can't see any outstanding candidates in the squad. Dunne shouldn't even be in the team so that leaves Clark as future captain.
  2. Could we not get Defoe for 6m? Younger, and better player IMO
  3. Way overpriced for his age and only one good season. We can find cheaper and younger options which is what we need to rebuild the squad. Holt taking gametime off Weimann would be criminal IMO.
  4. How long is left on his contract? If two years or less then cash on. Any longer and Id keep him while Weimann develops and give him one last chance.
  5. No better than Herd is already. Frimpong if we could loan him looked their best player at Molineux, game changed our way when he got injured.
  6. Those Ivan Gaskell quotes still suggest nothings been decided though. Of course he wants to stay but if he any credibility then he would resign immediately
  7. Anyone have an idea what he's on per week? He's a good squad player but if he wasn't 1st choice under MON, Houllier or McLeish and he's on a big salary then can understand letting him go.
  8. Good points, hopefully a new manager will bring a new group in. Having said that the youth coaches appear to be doing a good job with the reserves so maybe things are getting lost in translation when they get into the first team?
  9. Heart says yes, Head say No. Love the passion in the interview though, makes a nice change to read something positive.
  10. Big Ron in charge please, he'd sort the bad apples out easy enough.
  11. I'd read somewhere he wanted to finish his career in the MLS. Id hope Dunne's gone by the end of next season (at the latest). A new deal would be terrible at his age!
  12. That's the "bright future" right there.
  13. dont forget our 20th highest paid manager in world As much as that stat grates Im hoping it might help us attract a decent replacement for AMC!
  14. seems harsh to write him off when we don't know who our manager will be next year and therefore the style of play and who else he'll be playing alongside. Get a proper manager in, give J2M a pre-season and see how things are going by christmas. If still not cutting it, sell in Jan. simples
  15. Fact that he's in charge for the last two games is newsworthy says everything IMO.
  16. Agree but no-one gave QPR a chance against Spurs, Arsenal or Liverpool but they still won.
  17. Wigan survived by winning at Stoke on the final day last season, remember West Ham winning at Old Trafford one final day as well. If we could just take care of ourselves it would be rather smashing
  18. Further to this, defences know they cannot switch off with Bent around and may be more error-prone. Not so with Weimann, Heskey and an off-form Gabby.
  19. This. Add in an improving Ireland to supply the bullets , a better defensive unit and a manager who can get the best out of N'Zogbia we've got the makings of a good side IMO
  20. It has to be a matter of time, the mood has turned and both parties have put out ambiguous statements and not ended the debate. For all we know Lerner has targeted the replacement and feelers are being put out before an official approach so to avoid being turned down a la Martinez.
  21. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17872316 Alex McLeish will focus on Aston Villa future after season Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has said he will only talk about his future at the club once the season is over. Supporters were calling for McLeish to be sacked following the 2-1 home defeat by relegation rivals Bolton on Tuesday. The result left Villa, who have won just one of their last 13 matches, three points above the drop zone. But McLeish said: "We are concentrating on the last three games before anybody makes any statements about futures. That includes me." Villa have a better goal difference than the teams around them but they have picked up just three points out of their last seven games. However, the club's American owner Randy Lerner gave McLeish a vote of confidence this week. "I thought it was great leadership from the chairman," said the Scot. "People want to hear what he's saying at this particular stage. As far as a vote of confidence, I didn't see it that way, I just saw it as support. "They realise the tough job I've got and perhaps that's why they've chosen me because they've seen me getting through tough jobs like this before." McLeish takes his side to West Brom on Saturday and faces a home game against Champions League-chasing Tottenham before a final-day trip to Norwich as he tries to stave off relegation. "This is a tough challenge but I've come through tough ones before and I'm certain we'll make it," he added. "We've got to try to play for the nine points. We've got to go to the Hawthorns with a tremendous attitude. "In a derby game, it's roll your sleeves up and have a go." On the question of relegation, McLeish added: "It's possible but we don't believe it will happen." Adds more fuel to the fire that he's agreed his compo package to me, goes against what he said post-bolton few days ago "I'm not somebody who shirks a challenge. I will keep going and keep fighting to get the points that will make us safe."
  22. Saw a user on there called themselves STD, they just make it so easy sometimes.
  23. Im not so sure, full of people there to protest maybe but games against the big sides all went to General Sale and still didn't sell out. Can't see it happening against Spurs
  24. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17867957 Accounts filed late again, whats that coming over the hill? Administration, Administration???
  25. If it's true it's agreed for him to go then it would make sense to announce it as it would mean no protest against spurs and a positive atmosphere, the stadium would fill up again and the players (if not already aware) would hopefully get a boost about being in a better place next year.
