Has there been more appreciation for Moyes work up there now?

I talk with another Everton fan on another forum (good  guy tbf) and was surprised by the demands he was placing at Moyes towards the end of his reign...we're Everton, we should be top 4 ffs, why isn't Dithering Davie having a go etc..I think Martinez even after his promising first season is showing it isn't that easy.

Moyes' work was always appreciated, well after the blips..., but it was incredibly frustrating just watching the same thing every year and not seeing us get any closer to the top 4. Martinez's first season, we were incredibly unlucky to finish 5th, even if Spurs win their last game they will only finish 1 point more than we did that year!

Apparently the new owners want Moyes back, but they want Pelegrini as their first choice.

I'll be stunned if Moyes came back. His relationship with Kenwright is no longer what people think. Moshiri will have a big say now too of course but still.

We definitely went for him twice, the first time may have been after houllier & the second time after mcleish

have to wonder why Everton sacked him now, why not just wait until Monday?

The atmosphere would have been poisonous beyond belief if he stayed on til Sunday.

Sad he's gone as he is a genuinely lovely guy who just wanted to make Everton great again but it wasn't meant to be.

Regards to our squad:

GKs - Howard is gone. Robles is average, then it's kids.

DF - Jags. Funes Mori. Both sound. Stones will probably go (depending on managerial situation). Hibbert will likely go. Oviedo has stunk the place out lately but he has been played out of position so benefit of the doubt. Baines has played with an injury all season and Coleman has been horribly off form. We have Garbutt coming back off a loan from Fulham but I suspect he could be sold. We then have Galloway (LB/CB), Pennington (CB/RB), Browning (CB/RB), Connolly (RB/LB) and Holgate (RB/CB) all highly rated and being brought through.

MFs - Osman, Pienaar and Gibson will probs be released. Barry/McCarthy/Besic and Barkley all good generally( all had poor seasons - Barry apart!). Cleverley has done ok as well. Out wide - Mirallas will be overjoyed at Martinez going so likely will want to stay now. Deulofeu is class. Lennon done pretty well, can be very good! McGeady will go. We have some good kids coming through, in particular Kieran Dowell (AM), Tom Davies, Liam Walsh and Ryan Ledson (all CM)

ST - Kone will go. Lukaku probably will if someone pays the stupid price (most likely PSG) - he winds me up, has so much talent but plays for himself. Niasse, I find it hard to judge him considering the team he has come into but we'll see. We've also got Shani Tarashaj coming in from Grasshoppers who we beat off a lot of European competition for.

New major shareholder has promised a significant transfer budget pre sales, so be interesting to see what goes on.

Everton striker Oumar Niasse arrested on suspicion of assault

Everton's £13.5 million striker Oumar Niasse has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Police were called to a property in the early hours on Friday morning following a report of an assault.

When they arrived they arrested the 26-year-old footballer and took him into custody for questioning.

He was later bailed pending further enquiries.

Well he's been a great signing hasn't he.

So, Koeman is now odds on to join Everton.

One can only assume there will be significant funds for him to build a team.

If he does go, can Southampton get their managerial appointment right once more?

You all will definitely have money to spend, especially if Lukaku is sold, he'll go for 40m+!

Mirallas will want to leave, he's to good for Everton, along with Deulofeu. They should go some where else in Europe.

Hmm.

Don't think Mirallas or Deulofeu will leave unless they are not in the new manager's plans.

£100-150m plus sales is the rumoured budget...

Koeman only has to wait out one more season and he probably has the Arsenal job instead of taking a backward step to Everton

mind you with his experience of watching all the good players leave a club he's probably the perfect choice for Everton right about now
