Central London gone to RED ALERT. That doesn't happen often :suspect:

What exactly does "Take Action" mean anyway? Go out and panic buy lots of bread and milk? Stay indoors? Do not travel unless absolutely necessary? Go and roger the bird you fancy before it's too late?

it was snowing from about 8 o'clock yesterday evening. And its kept going all this time, although it didn't start to settle till 10 yesterday. Bloody annoying.

Is it expected to get worse over 2 weeks?

I'm making my first trip to england next week and would hate to see the country at a standstill because of terrible snow... or worse the airport closed and not being able to get in.

It's snowed quite a lot in Nuneaton over the last month or so, but its always got to about an inch deep then stopped and then only snowed to top the level back up to that inch on the ground.

Looks like we might actually get some proper snow today though. If we do, I'll be stuck in my street until it melts! :D
