I'm smashing it on Mastermind tonight.

I've scored points in two consecutive rounds.

Celebrity Mastermind? Dumbed down.

They claimed not a couple of nights ago - but when I can score 8's n 9's, it's dumbed down.

I've just watched that and Celeb University Challenge. Proper Mastermind is on next, but the missus says enough with the quiz programmes, so I've conceded defeat.

Remembering facts does not = knowledge [emoji4]

Yes it does, that's what knowledge is.

Understanding is something else. And intelligence is something else again.

I couldn't decide if it was a trap..

I'm pretty good at quizzes , I've built up a database of useless facts over the years and can blag my way through a variety of subjects

Ask me an indepth question on something and I'll start to flounder , but hey nobody ever won a million quid on a TV game show explaining how the cosmos worked

I find that it's quite the opposite. Often the knowing the detailed answer in a specialised subject is the opposite of the sound bite answer that the quiz is after.

On the rare occasions that quiz programmes wander into areas where I have a deeper understanding, I have to remember to apply the "normal knowledge" filter.

I can almost tell that the tolerant Sweden came to an end yesterday. All because of some men on a bus. These men were asylum seekers from Syria. They first came to Malmo but as asylum seekers you can be moved by the authorities. These men got placed on a bus and got driven to a small village outside of Östersund. Its winter so around Östersund its full of snow. This didn't suit this men so they refused to leave the bus and said that they were going to hunger strike if not taken back to Malmo. As this story broke the social media I follow just got filled up with comments like "send the bus back to Syria" from people I know to be openminded and quite OK with the immigration we have. Personally I don't know what to think but I think the change of debate climate is quite interesting and a bit funny.

Allegedly this men stole the bus drivers computer and that was like gasoline on fire.

We've got a pretty nasty bushfire threatening the outer north eastern suburbs of Adelaide :(

Fortunately nowhere near me but my wife has just taken the horse float up to try to rescue some horses that are currently stranded with their owners at a cricket oval up near the danger area.

I start work as a Police officer in a couple of hours and I know my team will be sending a few people up to help with road closures etc.

No deaths yet as far as i'm aware but it's still super hot at 39 degrees and windy and the fire is way out of control in the Adelaide Hills.
