I've binned off my 'kin huge wallet and gone back to my slinky bifold. Don't feel a thing when I sit on it.

I also wipe my arse front to back.

With apple pay / google pay no need for a wallet or a card. Just a phone.

Yes there is. The availability of contactless payment methods isn't ubiquitous

For example, you cant do a contactless payment at a pay at pump petrol station

I’m pretty sure you can at the ones here (Asda and Morrisons) but will double check next time I’m there.

Pretty sure you can't. Every pay at pump I've ever encountered pre-authorises a payment (usually £100) before you take any fuel. You firstly can't pre-authorise with a contactless payment and the petrol station aren't going to let you fill up without knowing your card details first

I think you can

Asda is converting more of its superstore petrol forecourts to card-only, unmanned operations with staff being redeployed into its stores.

An Asda spokesperson said the changes were being made as more than nine in 10 payments made at superstore forecourts were made via card or contactless device.

@Genieyou certainly can't at Tesco or the two completely unstaffed ones that I use. Can you use them to fill up an unspecified amount or do you literally have to pay first then get your fuel. I suspect if using contactless you have to specify the amount of fuel and pay for it before you get it. That's useless for me

I’m not sure, I tend to use my card in the reader but I have noticed the contactless option. I’ll test drive it next time and feed back.

Except when the contactless system goes down.

Always carry cards and an emergency ton in cash. Handy for when the situation arises, ie bribes/taxis/hookers/drugs!
