villa4europe
final trailer was released for it today, looks decent, seemingly gives away a fair bit of it, got high hopes for it

Popular Post coda
Really enjoyed this. It gets increasingly ludicrous but doesn't take itself too seriously.

theboyangel
How far up its own arse was Birdman???Wife went to bed with 40 mins to go.... should've gone too! Some good actors in it but the whole film felt incredibly self-absorbed and indulgent (I know the premise of the plot was such but it played out like that too much and with no sense of parody)Wouldn't recommend
Mark Albrighton Posted October 4, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted October 4, 2015 Watched "under the skin" last night.Good watch, but very distressing and unsettling in places. Also, fair play to Film Four for showing the whole film without ad breaks.

Mark Albrighton Posted October 4, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted October 4, 2015 It did. The beach scene in particular was troubling.

BOF Posted October 4, 2015 Moderator Share Posted October 4, 2015 I found it difficult to stay awake during Schindler's List, and that's not a post for effect.
Xela
On a serious note, Schindler's List is one of my favourite films of all time. A masterpiece. Seen it a few times now, Fiennes' performance as Amon Goeth is outstandingly chilling
villa4europe
Fiennes keeps it going, Tommy Lee Jones won the best supporting actor Oscar that year for the fugitive

Rodders
Just watched Disgrace - based on Coetzee's book. Not a bad adaptation but the book is definitely better, and a better medium I think for the story being told - the film doesn't capture the narrator's voice of the book ( which is Laurie ), hoping that facial expressions will suffice. Indeed the film probably suffered from trying to be too loyal to the book.
