The Film Thread

Well I don't think they have the characters explaining do they? It's just some words on a screen, excerpts from the book the old lady wrote. I'm definitely a fan of show, don't tell, but that film is pretty difficult to follow without the explanations.

On another note what the hell happened to Richard Kelly? I find it very hard to believe that someone could craft a masterpiece like that and then basically do nothing, seems like such a waste.

I notice he has a film due out next year which will be his first for 7 years, maybe that will be a return to form?

Hmmm. An Arnie movie with a little bit of weight to it? Certainly got me interested.

Anyone seen Primer? Good? Do I need a degree in mathematical engineering to understand it?!

I think its excellent

You won't understand it. Seriously, you won't. Its the only film I've watched twice and been more confused the second time I saw it.

It's very good though.

me too and I also found timecrimes a bit confusing as well

Looking at the director's past credits and saw that he designed and directed the Last of Us title sequence.

finally got round to watching Blade Runner - went for the Director's Cut, may check out the Final Cut next, as there appears to be a big deal over various cuts.

Well, it was pretty good. Rutgur Hauer is terrific, and quintessentially 80's too.
