Match Thread: Villa v Olympiakos

Why are we so against closing down quickly? Are we afraid of getting caught out of position by committing? Is it a tactical command by Emery?

We've had no control in midfield because both mcginn and Luiz want too much time on the ball.

Should have brought Rogers deeper or brought on Tim for Bailey or Diaby to strengthen the middle.

He surely HAS to give the Aussie lad a chance from now on til Emi's fit again?

His team conceded loads in A-League before he joined us

Some unfair criticism of Olsen as usual but he should have stopped the fourth despite the deflection.

Excuse my choice of words... But **** off...

Well I guess we wouldn’t be winning the Greek league if we were in it. Olympiakos are third in their league currently and have battered us.

Maybe Martinez just does an amazing job of compensating for our woeful defending.... Olsen has not been great but he has not been awful either.... he is just getting compared to a brilliant keeper

How have they scored 4 goals?????

They're bang average.

The ref is bent and we are playing without a goalkeeper.

I think we've done well to only be 4 down.

We’ve not played well tonight and they have been really up for it. They’ve also had quite a few breaks and decisions. It’ll be down to a long shot in the away leg

Competition over

NOT. 110 minutes to go, and we won't be as unlucky next week.

Lol, even I can't defend you for that Robin

Somehow it’s Olsens fault that our full backs played them on for two goals and Luiz handles the ball?

Blaming Olsen constantly isn't going to fix our poor defending. No effort to stop the shot. Not one body chucked in front of the scorer.

This team is **** shit and there's 20 minutes left. We can definitely get a draw out of this. There is nothing to fear in the away leg either.
