We concede far too many goals to be serious title contenders. Very very few teams win the title while conceding more than a goal a game and we rarely keep a clean sheet.

Agree with this, we would need to tighten up.

City don't actually keep that many clean sheets either, mind.

We are absolutely still in a title race. We’ve lost 4 games all season, 3 points off top at the halfway stage. Yes today was a disaster but it doesn’t change a lot. We’ve beat 2 of the closest teams to us already.

After Games in hand we could be 5th. Let's focus on the Champions League

It would be better to close the thread. We need to be underdogs, not contenders.

Yep, two chances to go top (win tonight and we'd have had an opportunity to do it v Burnley) and we've come short both times and in different ways.

No shame as bitterly disappointing as that second half was but this is an important lesson for the players. We will have far more high pressure games than this in April/May if we want to finish top 4 and actuallly win something so they need to show a bit more in digging in then they did at 1-2 as that was very poor to witness.

City certainly haven't this season, and unless they do they probably won't make it. But at the end of the day the thing with City is everyone expects them to win the next 15 games in a row or whatever. Of course they might not actually do that, but the point is it's at least *imaginable*. It's not plausible we can be tight enough to put that kind of run of results together.

I think it's quite important not to get too downhearted about this, the aberration was ever being in the discussion, not that we don't have enough to achieve it. Finishing higher than we did last season and winning a trophy would be great, and still highly achievable.

Oh I totally agree. Title is and was always a massive longshot. But we have some decent fixtures over the next couple of months and I don't necessarily think these last two results mean we'll suddenly drop away.

We can probably lock this thread. Title winning sides don't lose 3-2 when leading 0-2 at halftime.

Absolutely. Title winning teams do lose at man u... but not after being 2-0 up at half time. They also don't drop five points to two of the worst teams in the league including potentially one of the worse ever to be in the league.

39 points...it's amazing

We are only half way through the season, it won't be amazing if we finish outside the top 6 after being on 39 points end of this year, which could happen if we don't find our mojo.

Losing 3-2 against a poor Man U team when 2-0 up, with all the positives this season is bringing, was a disaster. First time in years we had the chance to put it up emm, an we switched off. 2/3-0 would have been the usual loss, which we may have handled, but to lose when on top, I think was the killer for most.
