Yep, two chances to go top (win tonight and we'd have had an opportunity to do it v Burnley) and we've come short both times and in different ways. No shame as bitterly disappointing as that second half was but this is an important lesson for the players. But at the end of the day the thing with City is everyone expects them to win the next 15 games in a row or whatever. Of course they might not actually do that, but the point is it's at least *imaginable*. It's not plausible we can be tight enough to put that kind of run of results together. I think it's quite important not to get too downhearted about this, the aberration was ever being in the discussion, not that we don't have enough to achieve it. But we have some decent fixtures over the next couple of months and I don't necessarily think these last two results mean we'll suddenly drop away. Truth is, whilst we are title contenders by Mathematics, we probably aren't contenders by any other metric bar the Man City performance. A combination of lack of quality in depth, strength of other teams etc and conceding too many will see to that imo. I'd love to be back in here eating my words after another sensational run in a few weeks time. Absolutely. Title winning teams do lose at man u... but not after being 2-0 up at half time. Losing 3-2 against a poor Man U team when 2-0 up, with all the positives this season is bringing, was a disaster. First time in years we had the chance to put it up emm, an we switched off. 2/3-0 would have been the usual loss, which we may have handled, but to lose when on top, I think was the killer for most.
