Match Thread: Burnley v Villa

Perfect away performance so far.  great movement/positioning all round, they've had more of the ball but we've not let them get in behind much. And when we do break forward we look very dangerous and sharp.

Defensively been particularly impressed with Kamara and Konsa. Pau and Carlos looked very solid too. Going forward, Cash obviously the revelation and combined very nicely with Diaby. Luiz and Kamara both been playing some smart forward passes.

Added bonus that both their CMs on a yellow now.

Third goal would be lovely, then we can make a few subs. Game isn’t over yet though, Burnley will be better in the second half, we just need to make keep doing what we are doing.

Definitely. We’re very, very good when we score the first goal in any match. Take the sting out of it and break through the lines.

Absolutely superb first half.

I love seeing Villa dominate games.

It's when you know you are actually, finally, a properly good team.

But, the truly sexual thing is that it has been achieved in such a short period of time.

We have traveled light years from the 'happily concede possession, hit 'em on the break, moment of magic' shite that we've endured for most of my adult life!

I love you Unai!

Need to stay patient and ride out their little flurry that will inevitably come. Then we get the third.

Unai’s setup has been perfect and the boys have executed it well. Need to hope that we can foresee Kompany’s response. A glimmer of hope for them and their fans will be on it putting us under pressure.

Much like the Hibs game, we don't look like we're out of first gear so far. Speaking of which, Hibs have sacked Lee Johnson. 🤣

Oh god. Could he hate us any more?

The passing ability of both Carlos and Torres is great to watch, Pau in particular.  He's got as good a touch on the ball as a quality midfielder or no.10; perfectly weighted right to feet or hitting players in stride when running forward.

Thank you for this…
