Ah, I see what's happened.  You forgot to say "Enhance... Enhance... ENHANCE".

Like his eye for a player, but he's a basic bitch when it comes to charts, it would seem.  Won't even plump for a Gannt!

Just a note on the difference between an alcohol sponsor and a gambling sponsor and BK8.

Someone mentioned Heineken earlier as a comparison, and in gambling terms I think it's really important to realise that BK8 aren't the gambling equivalent to that - and that whilst comparing the harm caused by alcohol and the harm caused by gambling in our societies is one thing - comparing those to BK8 is another.

It is very heavily suggested by investigative journalists that BK8's primary market is the illegal Chinese gambling market - that gambling market is huge, and in operating in illegal markets, with a prohibited product, companies that are involved tend to mix in very muddy waters - BK8 is very heavily rumoured to have been owned and controlled by Alvin Chau, a triad linked underworld figure who is now serving eighteen years for running a criminal syndicate - there are reports that the syndicate was also involved in drug operations, prostitution and people smuggling.

In terms of comparing BK8 to a brewery, the most sensible comparison I can make is to compare it to an alcohol supplier in a market where there is prohibition, yet everybody drinks and there are people who take advantage of that to generate huge sums of money.

If I'm comparing BK8 to a drinks supplier, I'm not comparing them to Heineken, I'm comparing them to Al Capone.

Evidence suggests that Aston Villa and Burnley FC’s official Asian betting partner operates from one of the most notorious cyber slavery compounds in Cambodia.

Quote

As established by a major report published in January of this year by the United Nations Office Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), ‘Casinos, Money Laundering, Underground Banking, and Transnational Organized Crime in East and Southeast Asia: A Hidden, Accelerating Threat’, these casinos double up as “cyber slavery farms” where tens of thousands of workers (some estimates quote a figure of 220,000 enslaved workers in the region as a whole), mostly from neighbouring countries such as Vietnam, have been lured by promises of well-paid jobs in accountancy, administration, communications or IT services.

Once there, their passports are confiscated, and they are forced to participate in criminal activities such as scamming, ‘pig butchering’, honey-trapping, fraud, illegal online betting and money-laundering on a barely imaginable scale.

As illustrated by multiple cases which have come to light in the last couple of years, and corroborated by horrific videos which have been shared on social platforms, those who refuse to cooperate are subjected to threats and violence, including sexual assault and torture

An absolute disgrace that they ever were, and still are, on our shirts.

Glad they're gone. Betano at least exist and appear to be legal.

Always upsets me we have links on our Web page to websites that don't even exist..click our Corpay sponsor and you get this:

Click Duelbits and you get told you cant use their website in this country.

It's all a joke and the league will be better when they all get banned. They just need to make sure they allow owners of clubs with less income to supplement their cash flow in other legal ways of their choosing.

Our Identity should definitely avoid illegal partners like BK8

Make the right choice Villa…

We already know the shield and background we’re getting, no getting away from that…

The only hope is a decent lion…

Surely...

I can't see any reason to use the dumbed-down version. Maybe a slightly simpler version for use on the web, smaller screens, etc. But the undefined block yellow thing makes no sense.

Without going over old ground, it’s quite disappointing to see how our badge has played out over the last few seasons.

So much good work has been done and continues to be done by the club but this really has been a complete mess. I don’t like the new badge at all. Can only hope it’s a grower over time?

Well there are two issues here. Corpay are legit, and their website works, this is just the usual incompetence from the useless gimps that run the villa website

It all leaves a sour taste in the mouth

The middle one is the best and had popular support. Not universally loved of course, no badge ever will be, but more legitimate than the one being picked going forward.

We went from bad, to good, to awful.

AVFC, Aston Villa, some illegible text squished under the lion. **** me!

Edit, I really find it astonishing how it isn't universally accepted that the handling of this since May 2023 is under par.

the new round badge is just boring. It lacks any personality. Generic as hell

the round badge that everyone really wanted when voting in that survey was this one

GettyImages-1632929.0.jpg

Yet the one we got is functionally good, yet it’s just seems like an “identibadge” that (metaphorically) says nothing about us

however, the new new badge, is just a meh remix of the Lerner badge, that just added more issues than it solved

so yes, this whole badge thing has been pretty bad… but the new shield is a nicer shape

Have to agree. Not happy about the (proposed) new badge, but the current one on the kits is incredibly bland.

While the Lerner badge is unpopular and could no doubt be improved, at least people associate it with Aston Villa.

I was happy when they announced they're not keeping the new round badge and were going for something more in line with the identity we've had in the past 15 years. It's just unfortunate that they just took the already bad Lerner badge and made it worse.

Corpay may be, but bk8 weren't and duelbits are irrelevant in this country.

Corpay's link not working is clearly our issue, I wonder if Corpay know and how much they'd expect to be compensated for the incompetence we have demonstrated by not linking to their homepage properly from ours.

As for the brand identity it generates having either ropey sponsors or an inability to access their products from our website, it's a pretty piss poor one.

What’s your opinion on the all the badges?
judging by your reactions, you like the new round badge. Why? And do you like it more than the old round badge?

Got to agree with @CarryOnVilla. It's a more uniquely identifiable shape and means we can associate it with us.  Like we have done for the Adidas soft launch, we can then use it as a standalone icon to represent us.

The double border is OK, serves the purpose of making it stand out on any colour background, and again makes it more uniquely our shape. Circle means nothing and the flat top single border on the old shield meant it was basically the same as Hull's (even if they had copied us).

There's plenty to dislike about the new badge (yellow on light blue, white text on light blue,  drop shadow), but the shape isn't really one of them for me.

I will add that the lack of due diligence around white label gambling companies continues to disgust and appall me. It’s another shameful episode.
