Fixtures 23/24

I'd much rather a tough 1st game than a newly promoted side.

It's good all-round: we need to go in fully focused and if we don't win, it's against another strong team and not the end of the world. Rather than going in blasé against a side we're expected to beat, getting beat, and then having the high potential of 3pts down the drain (like last season).

Should be a good match, nonetheless.

Same for Forest, Fulham, Spurs, West Ham, and Wolves

Just came in to post the same thing. **** the Premier League.

Thought the rule was you’d get one of these at home…or it used to be the rule.

If true, we apparently requested an away fixture first and last game?

Is that to let our pitch recover longer from summer events and then finally to start the North Stand work earlier in May 24?

Yes mate. @theboyangel mentioned above we possibly requested it. It's mainly due to P!nk and Springsteen having gigs at Villa Park in the coming weeks.

Not sure about the North Stand part of it though.

no real spells of tough games - it's a decent fixture list. arsenal and city back to back but both at home is as tough as it gets.

Nobody knows who is going to be good/bad next season so too early to tell if there is or isn't any spells of tough games.

We’ll have had a pre season and a couple of conference league qualifiers by the Newcastle game, I’d fancy our chances.
