Has everyone been working this out wrong the whole time? It's in complete contradiction to this page: Quote Clubs that reach the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals or final of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League, or the semi-finals or final of the UEFA Europa Conference League are awarded an extra point for each such round. VillaJay
Us winning the UECL to cement a CL place seems a real possibility and would be an incredible way to end the season. The most stressful way to achieve CL football, but would be fantastic

All the fluidity to our play up to December has been hard to sustain given the disruption to our lineups. I'd love to see a table of our injured players for 23/24 in one column with their total games missed in another column.

Popular Post Mantis
I suppose even in the worst case realistic scenario (we get knocked out by Lille, finish 5th but 5th doesn't get CL), we've still had our best season in decades, and that's despite all the injuries. Just have to keep some perspective.

If not then there’s a possibility we can finish 4th, which would lower the probability of us finishing 5th. Ah that might be the case actually, that might have been the difference. rubberman
Opta's latest view - much the same as above - has 57.8% chance of the extra place, but down from 82.5% before this week's round: https://theanalyst.com/eu/2024/04/will-fifth-place-premier-league-qualify-champions-league/ Although FFS... Quote So, which two leagues will win the race? Is it time for Manchester United fans to start supporting Manchester City in European fixtures? And for Tottenham fans to start following Arsenal’s campaign on the continent? Given that their own 'supercomputer' gives Man U a 3.5% chance of getting 5th that is really crap. We should've been worrying far more about 5th not getting CL in recent weeks, and I include myself in that.

GlobalVillan
I really think we need to match Spurs' result this weekend. If they win and we lose then I think we are done in the race for 4th, given they will be 3 points ahead with a game in hand and a far better goal difference. Added to that Burnley and Sheffield United are their last 2 games whilst ours a Liverpool and Palace, I dont think we would be able to make up the ground required during their difficult run of games. Huge weekend ahead.

Don't they also still have the Top 3, Newcastle (a) and Chelsea? There's plenty of scope for them to drop points and if they don't and instead win most of those five then hats off.
