Selling Dendoncker, Sanson and Nakamba could get us close to £15m-£20m.

Replacing those 3 with Adams and Tielemans for a net spend of £0-£5m would be very good.

Then we can focus on spending the rest of our £200m budget on three £65m players.

Adams could be a decent option, Kamara is almost too good to be the sitting midfielder, if Adams as his stats show he can replicate the defensive side of Kamara's game.

It could provide us with the option to utilize Kamara at centre half at times and help with building play from the back.

Exactly, it’s not always about marquee signings, anytime you can upgrade parts of the team it’s a positive step.

If we manage to sell those players and Adams is better than Dendoncker then it’s fine. Again, if there’s a player Unai wants we should get them in as long as it’s financially viable.

Donk is far too languid and lax on the ball for me (and I suspect for Unai) so I’d be happy for him to be upgraded and for us to have better cover or competition for Bouba. He at least brings some height and physicality but that’s not enough… it’s something we lack in that midfield department but technical prowess and passing proficiency are a must in an Emery team.

Does Adams cover a few positions too, like RB? Might be useful. If Unai rates him then we should rate him or at least reserve judgment - a la Moreno.

A few sensible squad options (that can actually help and impact us unlike those we’re looking to offload) to go with more marquee type signings is fine, but obviously looking forward to those that can genuinely enhance our team. We have a very light squad that’s low on good options. 

I think we’re going to be very busy, plenty of business to do…

I see your point, and no doubt he has the capability, but we have good defenders (and may be bringing in another) and pushing Bouba further back restricts him even more. Carlos will be back and will help in that regard but I don’t think Mings (especially) and Konsa have been lacking in that regard anyway.

I would hope that Adams isn’t coming in as a starter and will have to really fight and prove himself for that opportunity.

Kamara is exceptional and we would be kind of hindering him by doing that regularly, he has a lot to offer in midfield and can be even more than a DM or base of a pivot. He has shown that he could probably do well in most midfield positions or roles e.g. when he assisted Bailey vs Leeds. Happy for him to be our long term DM though, I think the only thing he lacks is a decent shot

I hope he’s a mainstay of our midfield in the long term alongside Luiz.

Interesting. Could definitely see him in that role, RB stepping into midfield to breakup counter attacks, and basically just laying the ball off to Kamara or Luiz to start attacks.

Sounds like he would fit that role perfectly.  We know Emery liked a CB at RB at Villarreal, so why not a DM? He would be a lot more suited to that role than Cash would, he's more of a traditional FB who gets forward.

I really do not like the idea of having no senior specialist right backs at the club. Cash is a converted winger with suspect defensive ability and Adams is not a specialist either.

Kenny Swain was converted from right midfield to right back and won the league and European cup.

Ah, yes.  The tactical genius of Gregg Berhalter...  This clown makes Fat Sam tactically look like Prime Barcelona Pep.

The worst part of Tyler Adams's game is his passing and distribution.  Our RB under Emery might not venture forward a lot, but that position still needs to be able to ping a good pass forward into the channel and through traffic short to McGinn.  Very puzzling to try to shoehorn him into the right back spot on paper.

Newcastle got champions league with their best midfielder being a converted (shite) striker.
