I don’t think so. The second striker acts as the width on the right and Moreno bombs on to add the width on the left. This allows the right midfielder to play a little more centrally and the right back to form a 3 man defensive unit so we don’t get done on transition.

Then the obvious choice is Wan Bissaka

I really like him, and he’s been superb in recent weeks, but had a torrid time today dealing with Brentford’s obvious gameplan to target him. Don’t know if Digne just looked better because the momentum of the game had shifted, or if he genuinely just played much better. Think Digne made a good case for a start.

We lacked pace yesterday, unfortunately that is all that was missing from our team. When we beat them 4-0 we had 2 forwards on the entire game ( watkins/ ings/archer) Bailey was also on from the start. A direct pass and we were in. Yesterday we couldn't do that for various reasons.

As moreno was our only pace in the team, keep him out and they can then concentrate on their game.

When digne and chambers came on we changed our system and both were able to push forwards rather than the predictable left side only.

Going to be interesting to see him go up against the best 1v1 defender in the league this weekend.

He should also have the beating of TAA in the Liverpool game in a few weeks.  We could really cause Liverpool problems if we double up Moreno and Ramsey on Trent.

Important player for us:

PPG with Moreno - 2.36, Played 11, Won 8, Drawn 2, Lost 1
PPG without Moreno - 1.27, P22, Won 8, Drawn 4, Lost 10

obviously there are more factors for the upturn in form and increase in PPG aside from Moreno, but he was an Emery pick and once he has the chance to get more players in who he knows can fit his style then good things will continue to happen at the villa

So what we saying... 75 mill to open talks, to invite them into a boardroom to tell them to f*ck off?

You'd be crazy to decline 75M for a 29 year old.

I’m sure our new DOF or whatever his title is would absolutely agree and find a replacement for half the cost. Man City are all about buying players to weaken the opposition. £100m for Grealish to sit on the bench for example. We took the money but didn’t invest it wisely, hopefully we’ve corrected that backroom problem now.

Their intention when they signed Grealish for 100m wasn't for him to sit on the bench at all though, was it? He's now starting every game, and he wasn't on the bench every game before either.
