Popular Post OutByEaster? Posted April 14 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted April 14 You watch the game today and the way he's able to manoeuvre a game to the point where players are constantly doing the things that they are good at is just amazing. The way he makes use of every single aspect of his team and the individuals and then builds that into systems and schemes that fit together is just unbelievable. If you watch the way we used Zaniolo to hold the ball up and bring in the midfielders - it's perfect, it's what the player is good at, it's what works in the game and he combines it with Watkins running in behind and Diaby/Bailey down the side to create spaces and options - every player doing what they're best at, knowing their job, every player drilled in it, understanding it, knowing why it will work and loving it because it's what they excel at - it's genius at work. The organisation, the buy-in he gets from players, his ability to get the most of what he has, the planning, the ability to see things and then make them work for him is just superb. He is a genuinely world class manager, and what's more he's a really, really classy individual.

numbersix
Such a dignified and humble genius, it takes all sorts but so pleased we got this type of confident - a perfect fit for what we needed at the time we needed it. After convincingly beating title contenders Arsenal today at their place, "Okay, 63 ... we could now be contenders (for CL). We must be very demanding to keep it " is his version of "do you want to bet against us" and the otherwise opinionated tw@ttery of the modern game is all the better for it. No blag and bluster, just a cool, pragmatic approach. Surely the manager's manager, can't imagine anyone in the game who's opinion is worth hearing thinks he's anything but the mister they want to be or be coached by. Yeah, we haven't won anything with him yet, but I've seen enough to know we have the best, bar literally none , that we could have wished for
CarryOnVilla
We are so blessed to have this guy as our manager. Every single player has improved under him. The team and its structure has improved under him. And he’s done it all with little ego. Amazing man
nick76
Imagine if he can get in a couple of quality signings in the summer without anybody important going out, imagine what Emery can achieve with us….

Mantis
We have to show this guy as much love as possible. Thought the banner in the Holte against Lille for his 1,000th game for a nice touch. Would love to see more of that sort of thing.

jayEm
It’s so telling that every Villa fan you speak to will say the same thing of Emery — we just don’t deserve him. This is not a sentiment common to football fans but Unai is no common football manager.
Stratvillan
Imagine what he will do with another couple of transfer windows. He us doing this with some wonderful players, but also some very average ones who he makes look like world beaters. Carlos is probably 4th choice centre half st the start of the season- was magnificent. Digne good solid full back - superb today. Rogers - a dozen games out if the championship. A genius.

Jonesy7211
Obviously not yet our most successful manager, but in terms of the standard of football, I really do think this season is the highest level of performance we've consistently played in comparison to possibly any Villa team of the past, with the exception of 81/82. An absolutely world class manager this guy. I wouldn't swap him for anyone else. Masterclass after masterclass.
stewiek2
I'm a straight 52 year old man but he can do what he wants to me. He's magnificent. We are truly blessed to have him as our manager. Wow. 2
MWARLEY2
He is already our greatest manager in terms of London wins. Spurs Arsenal Brentford Chelsea Fulham and a draw v West Ham. Only 2 points dropped in the season in London. Magic ! In fact only 5 points dropped home and away against London teams full stop.

Villa should never have become a club where inexperienced Managers are given a chance to prove they can manage at a higher level. Owners should have viewed the club as belonging to the highest level but last time that happened was with Big Ron as a league title then became a possibility. You are right though. Emery isn't just a common Football Manager. He is one of the World's best. Edited April 14 by Caravella82
