  1. yeah Diego picked him up like he was a baby the rest of this was tough going tbf , like the plot-building dialogue sections of 80s art movies
  2. If the ref is dodge, why is it assumed that the next match is to be fixed against Villa? Olympiacos are ahead in the tie and playing at home, which has narrowed the odds. Corrupt officials work for money, not some grand mission, so if there's corruption it gets backed by gambling syndicates that try to dictate the outcome for financial gain, surely? The Olympiacos owner also owns Forest, so if he's paying officials to swing results it hasn't worked very well for them. Lots of talk about them wanting a greek side in the final - who are they, exactly? If we think there's a powers-that-be running the show, why wouldn't that be in our favour, anyway? More kudos for the UECL in a former Champions League/ UCL qualifying team winning this cup than the other outfit
  3. we beat Lille, so if Olymiacos score early and sit back thinking they've killed it then bring it on, we've plenty in the tank still to see these f**kers off and some of the finest goal scorers in the premier league to do it plus the world's number 1 goalie to frustrate the hell out of them and build up from the back in a way they just aren't used to, their domestic league is pony
  4. Bluenose27: "We do need an immediate return. Or 2 seasons minimum. If we have to buy the league then so be it."
  5. match winner today, doing the fishing thing, hopefully a bit of inspiration
  6. Just saw him at Euston station in London. Probably should have said “don’t put a yellow lion on a light blue background “ but just said “ Heck ? up the Villa”. Wasted opportunity I guess
  7. at least it'll help poundshop bob monkhouse pay the tax he owes
  8. yeah fair enough, but if his confidence is high, the game/ challenge is won and we can facilitate the guy achieving records it would be another great achievement
  9. definitely, any opportunities for pens in the league now should surely go to Ollie if he wants them, depending on the state of the game they're in
  10. whether he gets the recognition he deserves elsewhere is to be seen, all we know is he's about to break records here, so surely approaching legendary status
  11. Such a dignified and humble genius, it takes all sorts but so pleased we got this type of confident - a perfect fit for what we needed at the time we needed it. After convincingly beating title contenders Arsenal today at their place, "Okay, 63 ... we could now be contenders (for CL). We must be very demanding to keep it " is his version of "do you want to bet against us" and the otherwise opinionated tw@ttery of the modern game is all the better for it. No blag and bluster, just a cool, pragmatic approach. Surely the manager's manager, can't imagine anyone in the game who's opinion is worth hearing thinks he's anything but the mister they want to be or be coached by. Yeah, we haven't won anything with him yet, but I've seen enough to know we have the best, bar literally none , that we could have wished for
  12. proper handful today, most convincing performance in the shirt to date imo
  13. haven't felt so confident of a win during a game since the last time we played arsenal
  14. https://twitter.com/ChrisCOB_OB/status/1777669055366799571 Seems their prime objective is focussing on an NFL stadium in Birmingham to expand US "football" in europe which they'll keep ticking over with other use when gridiron isn't happening. They are leveraging the desperation of small heath/ bankrupt BCC and the remit of WMCA to outsource investment in the region (and the grants/ levelling up bullshit that can be accessed along with this). Understand the noses' excitement but blues are clearly incidental to knighthead's mission, not at the core of it
  15. chose Emi as man of the match due to the outfield players to a man being meh (apart from Zaniolo when he came on looked quite bright - has he just got one of them faces? cos he's carded a lot for nothing much...) If I could have chosen Kaplan as MOTM I would have done, he was impressive
  16. played very, very well. they took their chances and we didn't take all we could. 3 months-worth of games to come, pau and buendia to return. this is far from over, have faith
