Roberto Di Matteo had a 57% win ratio a Chelsea and also won the CL 🤷‍♂️

Not saying Tuchel is as bad a coach as Di Matteo, but win % aren't a good judge of how good a manager is.

They are a good way to get an Idea of the calibre of manager.

I am basing this not only on his chelsea stats but  tuchel's other clubs like PSG (75% win highest ever in ligue 1) and Dortmund (63% win rate)

To me those figures tell me he is a consumate winner and he would be great for villa if we could knock a few kinks out of his Personality😆

PSG are the top club in France and expected to win every game. Dortmund are top 4 regulars in Germany and usually runners-up after Bayern. Managing clubs like that, anything under 50 or even 60% win rate is terrible.

The fact he got to manage those clubs in the first place says more, IMO.

If both matches against Leicester and Southampton gets cancelled, and the club had plans to sack Gerrard before the international break. Any chance they will act as soon as the cancellation is confirmed to use the time before the next match to find a new manager?

That would be the smart and proactive thing to do.

I expect us to do nothing though and when Poch goes to Leicester or Sevilla we will be left with someone like Fat Sam.

Potter should have been the first choice when we sacked Smith. I’m pretty sure we would have gotten him then.

Maybe we can get Chelsea’s second choice; Ruben Amorim.

would be hopeful that research would be done into his availability.

I can’t see it, think they will be determined to give him extra time. He can treat it as another mini pre season…yay.

The thing that excites me most about Poch is that every time I assess his potential appointment I always come to the same conclusion: better football, Villa moving higher up the league and building a strong foundation for the future. I can't find any negative with his appointment

But we’d lose The next manager of Aston Villa thread for such a  long time! How would people cope in here??

It too him 2 years at Brighton to move out of the bottom half of the table.

We could do with drawing some more games.

we could, but we also need wins to cover from this poor start......Potter took 2 years to break out of the bottom half of the table and look at him now.

patience is a virtue.

Also Potter was changing the style and culture at the club. They played good football and their underlying stats airways pointed to a team that would eventually get better with results. None of this is true at Villa right now. Patience for the sake of it is foolishness, not a virtue.

Superb.

Looking beyond surface level is very important.

I also don't think Potter went in there, stripped Lewis Dunk of the captaincy, and then called him out on it to the media.

Right... Which one of you called into Neil's ( For the Love of Paul McGrath ) show pretending to be a Jamaican woman?

" I TINK Dat owa Skwad is Di best Skwad outside di tap 6 , at firs I was excited when Geraaard cyame in... but now I'm not sure if eee know how tuh set up da skwad carrectly... anyway.... Up Di Villa "

Tickled me to be fair. Never expected us to have Female Jamaican Villa fan of all things however I'm guessing this is the Bailey factor as she said she's been a fan for a year now.
