  1. 1. Who is your pick for new Villa boss?

I'm confident Steven Gerrard won't be the next manager of Aston Villa. It would take something spectacular for him to be removed from the role and then re-appointed.

Maybe discuss him in one of the other 500 Steven Gerrard threads

Won't be Pochettino, because Villa is beneath his stature.

According to weasel-faced limpdick Gary Neville.

Neville: “Mauricio Pochettino’s not going to go to Aston Villa, I don’t feel. Having had Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, his aspirations would be higher than Villa. He’ll have to wait for Newcastle or a top six club to become available."

Why delay the inevitable.

Would be peak Villa to wait until poch and other top mabagers are unavailable

It’s a proper mabager that we’re trying to get rid of. What we need next is a proper manager.

The season he got Monchengladbach to the Champions League or the season he got Dortmund to 2nd

The point is a good debut doesn’t mean someone will be successful at a club.  As Gerrard has proven.

Plus he has a new job now, why even bring him up?

Wait till they find out Haaland is scoring hat tricks whilst we faff about with Ollie Watkins...

What’s the most annoying thing is there are currently better managers out there who have no job, by the time we decide to get rid of gerrard these will have been snapped up, was hoping leics would have been his last game if it wasn’t for the games to be postponed, he’ll fluck a win against Southampton and we’re stuck with him till after the World Cup 😡

We are stuck with him anyway.Four points from 6 games and he is supposed to get us into the top 6/8 ?1

Last season he took over when we were 16th and after about 20 games raised us up to the hights of 14th. Climbed 2 positions in 20 games and nothing has changed

It’s not necessarily a problem to say he’d be looking higher than us, but let’s look at that. Newcastle - ok new cash on the block but if they do poorly enough that Howe gets sacked they’re not in any better position than we are. He’s not going back to Spurs and in the same breath Arsenal are off the table. Man Utd didn’t have a real manager for a year and they didn’t make it happen. Chelsea just signed Potter for the future, so that leaves waiting for Pep or Klopp’s seat. If he wanted to work in the Premier League again we’re the option. If his aspirations are higher, and by that he means playing Champions League football immediately, he’d be better off looking for a job in one of the other European leagues.

That quote is from a video which was discussed on here a few days ago mate.

He was shut down by Ornstein who disagreed, pointed out that our owners were as ambitious as any of the top 6 clubs and that he thinks Pochettino would certainly consider our project etc.
