I know there’s an increasing amount of these being done but it’s always nice to see footballers being good guys. Proper got me in the feels seeing the wee lad’s face when Pickford walked in.

There are a few but its hardly the norm. For every one of these type of stories there is sadly 50 bad events that completely mask them.  Would not be a bad thing for there to be an ever increasing number of them really.

More of this sort of thing I say.

Far better than stories about night club antics, laughing gas, sexual assault, drink driving, etc that we usually get about footballers.

Has to be 'real' and also be a bit unusual though IMO, if it gets made part of their expected duties or the stories become ten a penny then it's less meaningful.

Wholly agree - it's a welcome relief from the willy-waving/drunk-driving/escort-cavorting stories we are used to. As HV says though - it would be nicer if they were genuine acts of kindness from a pro footballer rather than a staged PR video. Still, the wee man had a day he'll never forget and that's genuinely what I wanted to share :)

I hate the club in question with a passion, but Norwegian Eliteserie side Lillestrøm used to have a charismatic goalie from South Africa by the name of Emile Baron. Since leaving Norway, bad luck with injuries, a lack of any education and some poor decisions has landed him and his young family in dire straits, no job, very little income and practically homeless. A newspaper did a very moving feature on him that was published this saturday. Since then, Lillestrøm fans, with lots of support from fans across the country, have raised almost £100k in support of Baron and his family. Sometimes, football can do good things.

Think our fans come out with credit for the applause for David Brooks after coming on as sub after his illness Saturday.

Nice touch and he has thanked us.

Gotta be honest I just joined in was not aware what was going on at first so whoever started that well done.

Four separate good things in one week. Keep it up VT-ers, and football.

Just don't mention 90% of the game and we're good!

90% may be optimistic 😂

Arsenal players might want to look away:

Heard some things about him on the radio today...

It went something along the lines of he was recently at a lower league match and he was spotted by fans who tried to get his autograph, photo etc (mostly kids). He stopped for ages, literally autographs and selfied for hundreds of them.

A few other things mentioned like this, seems a top guy.

Yeah he’s class and that’s why I like him.
