To be fair, short term success and " long term building " can also go hand in hand.

Both are important you’re right JV. Live for today but keep one eye on tomorrow and all that.

I read somewhere. “Tactics is knowing what to do when there’s something to do. Strategy is knowing what to do when there’s nothing to do.”

It's odd we are getting rid of Sanson..surely the club have spoken to Kamara maybe we can get the best from Sanson with Kamara here. Unless he just hasn't settled in Birmingham maybe and it's too far gone to rescue.

The club have at no point said they were getting rid of Sanson. It’s just people online saying get rid of him because he doesn’t play.

Reliable journalists have said he is up for sale, so I take it there is a level of truth to it.

we went toe to toe with Liverpool and  Man City the difference was clinical finishing and both those teams don’t even have a striker on the pitch, to bridge the game we need elite composed,  finishers of course this is easier said than done.

No, the difference wasn’t clinical finishing.

In the City game they had 72% possession. They made 24 attempts to Villa’s 4, they had 5 shots on target and 10 off target (2 and 1 for us). They had 13 corners, we had 1. And so on.

They were extremely wasteful.

Teams just need a strong mentality and they won't lose away at City :crylaugh:

I think its more like he just hasn't settled in the team.

Just playing catch up - what a statement signing!! If he is as good as his reputation and we get someone like Bissouma on as well then this is transformative. Exciting to see who we get in next. NSWE deserve a proper push for Europe after their investment.

Nothing wrong in losing away to City......conceding 3 in 6 minutes , with 14 minutes left, is a whole different ball game.

Any other team, would have attracted an FA investigation.....but they are used to us now.:bang:

Sounds like us against Watford where we lost with 20 attempts on goal and over 60% possession same vs Brentford and Newcastle, but the were clinical and took their chances , sometimes you don’t have to be the best team statistically to win a match.

Ollie is a difficult one he benefits us in many ways but hinders us in as many,  we went toe to toe with Liverpool and  Man City the difference was clinical finishing

Well I’m not sure that’s true to be honest. Sure he missed chances, but not many teams score 2 vs City. The difference was we conceded 3.

Ollie missed a sitter though one on one with the keeper twice.

In a sense yes they probably had 2 or 3 good chances that they could have scored from but we had 3 fairly strong penalty shouts imo. And Watkins had 3 1 on 1s. Objectively speaking we could have had 4 against city.

Yes Sanson isn't even 30 has a decent CV - he's going to want games - which he is highly unlikely to get here.
