He would have thrown a team of very expensive lawyers at them, tying it all up for year's. With the main witness not only not being available anymore but now back with him the chances of a conviction are greatly reduced. They probably thought it wasn't worth spending all that money when they're already massively underfunded. Ridiculous whatever their thinking. Any sort of rape/abuse claims are nigh on impossible to get a successful prosecution in because of a lack of evidence. Sound bite is nothing (“that’s not me”), photos aren’t him hitting her - just some wounds on her.
