Popular Post TheMelvillan
Didn’t agree with him getting the captain ship at the time but willing to eat humble pie and say yes he is our captain and deservedly so i think history will have him as one of our greatest servants as he has been through so much with us. One of only two from the promotion team and got us that crucial second goal on the day getting better too

Popular Post OutByEaster? Posted May 28, 2023 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted May 28, 2023 He could knock over a cow, hold back the sea, wriggle through a flock of geese. It's not even what's best about him - what a terrific character he is, what a fantastic human being - we're lucky to have him.

one_ian_taylor Posted May 28, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted May 28, 2023 Felt fitting that him swimming a corner with his arse was the last act of the game. That arse has seen us from mid-table to Europe, tracing our ups and downs with its muscular curves. It's brilliant he seems to be going from strength to strength. One of out best value transfers ever? 2
DevonIsAPlaceOnEarth
Really pleased for McGinn and Mings particularly, because they’ve been there from the championship years.

Popular Post ThunderPower_14
I teared up when he took the ball over to the corner flag. No more fitting end to this wonderful season than Captain Super John McGinn holding off 2 players to run down the clock to secure a famous victory.
Popular Post KentVillan
Weirdly for someone who has been here so long, he’s been this season’s biggest surprise. Thought Emery would ease him out of the side, but he’s become an outstanding disciple of Emeryball after a lot of us (me included) wrote him off as having hit his ceiling. Fair play.
sheepyvillian
I always kept faith with him. He's a proper player's player, that's why you always hear individuals who have played or managed praising him because they fully understand the qualities he brings. Even when going through that long rough patch, he never shied away from his responsibilities. If a manager like Emery continually sings his praises it tells you everything. Without doubt, one of our most humble servants. Long Live, SJM.
Brumstopdogs
What a transformation from McGinn. From a player that was blowing 60 minutes into every game to the player still with energy to burn going into injury time. DJBOB
Against certain opponents, McGinn in that second striker/8 role is perfect. Trade Buendia’s passing for more consistent pressing and winning duels to progress the ball. Needs to be combined with a fast but defensively solid option who can play RW but John really shined these last two matches.

Sulberto21
I think the biggest improvement I would say is when he’s gone into the centre as the DM - previously he’s looked lost and lost the ball constantly. Now when he plays in the middle I have no issue as he’s equally comfortable playing in his proper position further forward.
Pinebro
He'll turn 29 in October. Time flies! Didn't realize he was getting that old.
