Gerd Mûller was the last player who scored double figures in a WC (1970).

Wonder if Ronaldo can replicate that?

Triffic pressing by Morocco.

Once again thou they'll likely end up with nothing despite a good performance.

Should have gotten 3 points against Iran.

He certainly steps up and delivers at the big international tournaments, unlike Messi.

Ronaldo had 3 goals in 3 world cups before this one.

he has 8 goals in 5 Euros

so before this world cup he has 11 goals in 8 tournaments, 11 goals in 36 games, strike rate of 1 in 3.27 games, his international career he has a strike rate of 1.80 and his overall career he has a strike rate of 1.12

so no he doesnt "turn up at tournaments" his strike rate decreases for them

Messi has 8 at the Copa America too fwiw. And the record number of assists.

I hate that this always turns into a Mess vs Ronaldo debate. Especially when these myths are made up by either side.

They're both **** brilliant. Enjoy them!

Guerriero has been destroyed all half here. Shame Morocco shat themselves in the second half versus Iran, actually been really impressed with their first halves so far.

Mark Lawrenson thought everyone went a bit overboard with the praise for Ronaldo after the Spain game.

It was a sensational game but I think people went a bit overboard with their reaction to Ronaldo's performance, though. His last-gasp free-kick to make it 3-3 was magnificent, but his first goal was a penalty and his second was down to a howler by David de Gea.
