If Only For a Week

I sometimes wonder what it'd be like to trade lives with someone for a week, or to live somewhere different, or do a different job.  Not necessarily anything outlandish or "better" than I have now - just to do something different and see the world from another perspective.

With that in mind, I thought it'd be interesting to see if any of you think the same and what you'd do.

Here's a list. You've got a week with a different life.  No consequences.  Copy, paste, have at it!  And tell us why, too.

  • Celebrity -
  • Footballer -
  • Member of a band on tour -
  • VT'er -
  • Citizen of a country -
  • "Other half" -
  • Car to drive -
  • Anything else, for a week -

Celebrity - Donald Trump.  I'd resign with immediate effect on the fourth day.

Footballer - Dunno on this one. Someone who gets a big say in a big game I guess, maybe at the business end of the world cup or in the Champions League final. I think I'd like that experience more than just being able to name an individual player. I guess Cristiano Ronaldo in May or something.

Member of band on tour - You've got to go big here, right? I can't see past Rolling Stones touring Exile on Main Street in 1972. Similar era Led Zep too I guess but the Stones tours of that era are the stuff of legend.

VTer - Kryten. :)

Citizen of a country - somewhere where they don't have the stuff we take for granted I guess. If I knew I would get out then it's North Korea in a heartbeat.

Other half -

Car - Aston Martin DB11. I'd spend a week driving it from London to Rome.

Anything else?  I'll get back to you.

  • Celebrity - Bradley Cooper, just to see what it'd be like to have so many birds gawping at me all the time!
  • Footballer - I almost said Joey Barton, just so I could spend a week inside his head.  I think I'd choose Zlatan though, just to have such talent.
  • Member of a band on tour - Oasis, back in the day. I bet it was absolute carnage.
  • VT'er - Hmm... If I was allowed to remember the week I'd probably pick @mjmooney so I could have all that experience already. But then half the fun is making mistakes...
  • Citizen of a country - it's not a holiday. You've got to work for the week, grocery shopping etc. I'd pick India I think. I'd love to try a week there.
  • "Other half" - possibly Tess Daly, just to see why Vernon Kay keeps drifting away. Or Holly Willoughby. I bet she makes a good brew un all.
  • Car to drive - I wouldn't mind a week with an E-Type Jag.
  • Anything else, for a week - I'd be able to play the guitar, and sing in tune.

Celebrity - Jason Sudeikis. Because he's engaged to Olivia Wilde.

Footballer - For a few years in the 90's I wanted to be Dean Saunders.  Wanting to be any other player just feels wrong.

VT'er - Stevo. Because we won't get a picture, it's the only way I'll see what this girl from work is like.

Citizen of a country - Iceland. Because I'd like to go.

"Other half" - I took this to mean "how the other half live". In which case, Dr Tony Xia. It looks like fun.

Anything else - writer for a good pub guide.

Waylon Jennings, he famously gave up his seat, he was good friends with Buddy Holly, he suffered guilt for decades after.

Hmm. You might be disappointed. Most of my 'experiences' are extremely tame, compared with many VTers.

I am fairly contented, though.
