Getting really bored of seeing nothing articles being presented as headline news each day, it’s becoming so tedious I think I’d rather they just invaded and got it over with.

’so and so says bombs could fall within minutes’

’so and so says attack is imminent’

blah blah blah.

Tell you what though, it’s been a great distraction for the Tories hasn’t it, almost too conveniently so.

Good old fear porn.

Yep, Sky News headline this morning (paraphrased a little):

’Attack Imminent - bombs could drop within minutes (if Putin decides to attack)’

Yeah no shit, that’s kinda how wars work, once they are declared…….fearmongering for clicks, rocket polishers.

Didn't the West reassure Gorbachev that NATO wouldn't need to exist once the wall came down?

Nope. Nor did anyone agree or promise that NATO couldn’t or wouldn’t expand eastward to incorporate those states of Eastern Europe liberated from Communism and Soviet control. No treaties or agreements exist to that effect.

Keep us in fear so they make decisions to keep us safe from something that'll end up very watered down - and then they can say we need more nuclear weapons and such for reasons like this.

Well it isn't really is it.  I'm sure no one in the vicinity of Canada would be actually asking Putin to bring those troops over to "help" would they?

Not my views, as i hope you'd know. :D

This is the line the American far right talking heads are spouting. Pretty incredible really.

It's not remotely analogous, is it?

If Canada had amassed 130,000 troops on the border with the USA, was involved in years worth of mercenaries fighting on behalf of Canadian claims over (say) Alaska, and had already annexed another Northern US state, then it might be a bit more of a valid comparison.

It’s not my view, as I would hope you’d know, as I explained earlier.
