If there was the smallest grain of justice in the universe, someone in a position of power spouting such contemptuous bollocks would be struck down dead the second the words left their mouth.

**** scum.

If you watch the video embedded here in the thread and on a iPhone it appears that Michael Myers is sat behind her 🤣

I think the average tory punter’s wet dream would be now let me finish Farage.

But he’d have to win a seat first, something he’s not managed on his first 37 attempts.

I think that will be every labour supporters wet dream too as it will mean no tories in power

I wonder about someone like Tobias Ellwood. But then I never really see his name mentioned with the leadership so I guess there’s a reason for that.

More chance of Corbyn getting it. He's currently hated by the whole Tory party for his travel diary in the summer bigging up how great the Taliban are.

They elected his replacement today for Chair of the Defence Select Committee after his position on that was untenable.

Hmm cheers, that would probably be sufficient enough to rule him out then. The story completely passed me by I have to say.

Blunts held his hands up. On that he said I have been arrested, not admitted guilt.

His claim is that it’s an extortion attempt and he’s cooperating fully. Time will tell.

Is there an average amount of by-elections that happen over a government’s tenure? And by tenure, I mean the last time they had a GE, not since being in power. It just feels like there’s been so many, it must be higher than the norm - if there is such a thing.

Secondly, and not completely unrelated, is there an at a glance list that shows how many MPs have been suspended/arrested/whatever for nefarious reasons since 2019? And even though it’s on the less serious side of things - relatively speaking - I’m including the tractor porn guy in that.

The last full term parliament 2010-2015 had 21 by-elections. The current parliament is on 19 with a year left.

The only almost full term parliament since 1997 that had significantly less was 2001-2005 which was particularly low at 6. The others are all in the high teens

I think the difference maybe that most of the ones this time are producing wild results, whereas a lot in safe seats usually get ignored but right now there’s no such thing as a safe seat.
