It’s never that simple to be honest. In Liverpool we have homeless shelters and charities that try to get the homeless into them but many refuse and they refuse because they don’t feel safe in them because what happens is that you end up in a situation where you have buildings full of people with mental illness and all the problems that entails. A lot of homeless people feel safer on the streets as a result.

Absolutely Bicks and it is a very gray area. I know someone that is sadly currently in the situation down in Derby.

But from reading that BS tweet of hers, It's quite misleading how she bangs on about UK being compassionate and support in place for genuine homeless people when that simply is not the case.

You're right l, many do think it's safer on the streets than opposed to some of these Shelters.

I'm not far from you down the road near Chester and it's rife here too with genuine homeless folk (not just your fake beggars who are only after the next 5er to be able to go and shoot up)

Her tweet would have you think otherwise though.

Is there any money or projects to get these people into proper accommodation? Or is it just stealing their tents?

It's in the same pot as the money to process asylum applications.

They won't need tents in Rwanda.

It's like the Tories are trying to set some sort of record for the biggest hammering in a GE for a sitting government in history.  They're already massively hated for their cold-hearted cruelty and decide taking away tents from homeless people just as winter is about to come is a vote-winner.  They're doing Starmer's work for him.

What an absolute shower of unrelenting shit this government is.

And it’s gone in stages from arrogant, entitled and careless, through to inept and visionless, then to monumentally corrupt and incompetent, with a wilful disregard for the rules and finally on to deliberately and performatively nasty.

Marching to call for an armistice on armistice day will be viewed as hate marching.

Is there anyone / any site keeping track of the Tory related scandals? Must be exhausting work to be fair with the volume of it all.

And every time, we hear that there’s no widespread problems, no cultural issues and that procedures are robust - I don’t know how they can even keep a straight face when saying this any longer.

I find it amazing there’s a big public enquiry ongoing where people are talking openly about the likes of Johnson and Hancock making decisions (or not making decisions) which went against expert advice that killed thousands of people. Yet, Johnson and Hancock are swanning about raking in millions of pounds without a care in the world.

I really hope the long arm of the law catches up with them eventually.

That was Piers Morgan’s line yesterday.

Im not sure any laws exist with regards to elected officials making decisions which turned out to be wrong.

Oliver Dowden’s comments on the latest scandal were somewhat hilarious yesterday.

The allegation is that a current MP has raped multiple people, the police haven’t properly investigated the claims and the MP is continuing with impunity. Also that the Conservative Party are currently paying for a victim’s treatment / rehabilitation. The claim was made by Jake Berry MP who under Liz Truss was briefly in a position to know.

Dowden on multiple channels stated he couldn’t comment because he didn’t know the name of the MP as the name wasn’t released. Now that begs two very big questions

1. How many MPs are currently suspected on rape that haven’t been named in public?

2. How many victims of rape are the Tory Party paying for?

Just for those that may be unaware, Oliver Dowden is the Deputy PM and if he doesn’t know, why doesn’t he?

And yet if a company director does the same they very much can be prosecuted for manslaughter and also can lose their personal possessions and wealth.

He definitely knows, lying comes almost as naturally to Tory MP’s as sexual assault.

You'd have to imagine at this stage that the chances of finding a sexual predator amongst the ranks of Tory MPs is much greater than in your average Catholic seminary or a Boy Scout Jamboree

Course he does - apparently he was on the telly yesterday saying he knew that allegations it wasn't properly investigated and stuff weren't true. He couldn't know that without knowing the details of the investigation, and thus the MPs name.

Latest yougov email survey on the topic of tents and rough sleepers.

79% would oppose new laws banning tents

84% think it’s unfair to fine charities supplying tents

89% think it wouldn’t reduce rough sleeping

They really are appealing to a smaller and smaller demographic by the day.

Who remembers the old days when the party in power would put their energy into policies that made life better for the majority?
