The banker loving, baby-eating Tory party thread (regenerated)

This time last year, Sunak was obsessed by SPACs, another garbage financial deal. He's a very rich man who is married to an unbelievably wealthy woman whose family made their money in IT, and he has a house in California he likes to visit, so I can't say it's surprising to me that he is obsessed with every stupid and crooked idea to come out of the nexus of tech and finance in the US. Him being mad keen on NFTs is completely natural.

The funny thing, of course, is that since the tech bubble has largely popped since last spring, and since basically every high-profile SPAC has turned into a shit investment at best, and an embarrassing disaster at worst, we no longer hear about Sunak's big plans to make the UK more 'SPAC-friendly'. Sunak's love of NFTs might well go the same way, and frankly it would be best if it does turn out to just be a passing fad.

In other news today, the Tories plan to privatise Channel 4. They are obsessed by money but know the value of nothing.

A reminder that the moron in charge of this asset-stripping literally doesn't understand the thing she's looking to flog off.

This is what the tories do, there's never any improvement, or investment, it's all about destruction and diverting public assets and funds into the pockets of the wealthy.

It is worth noting that these two even play on the same team. Green himself has already proven unfit for public office but Dorries is in a different league of incompetence

You can see he feels slightly uncomfortable pointing out something that will make her look stupid, but does it anyway.

Also explains her stunned response because she couldn't just call him a lefty liberal snowflake remoaning anti-semite.

Channel 4 being sold because it's news output isn't Tory friendly

Indeed, and also because public ownership of anything is an abomination that needs to be addressed by the glories of the 'free' market and the rich bankers that benefit from it. Next up healthcare, education and roads.

I do wonder if the roads could get any worse, but that's probably the intent of starving the public services

Surely even traditional tory voters look at that with absolute revulsion.

It's why she's in this government though. It's not about who can do the best job, it's about who will have Boris's back, and either hide or lie through their teeth when there are difficult questions.

Sorry I’ve got my fingers in my ears, did you say Labour crashed the economy and are antisemites?

In about 100 years when we are all in the poor house you’ll still get penniless rat eating slave worker Tory voters excusing themselves by saying “well at least its our british poor house and not a European poor house, thank god it’s not Labour in charge, it’s that old chap Blair wot put us here in the first place ain’t it. **** Jew haters”.
