That's how these people work. Doesn't matter if it's true, if you say it people will think it's true. And even if you can easily prove it isn't, most of your supporters will WANT it to be true so they'll ignore it.
Chindie Posted July 22, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted July 22, 2020 Shame doesn't exist anymore. And there's no recourse for the lack of it either.

chrisp65
Anyway, all broken up for recess and off to their hollybobs cottages now. Everything pretty much under control, we can pick the odd bits n pieces after the break. Cheers everyone and have a great summer recess.

Davkaus
I'm increasingly willing to lend credence to the idea that Cummings isn't just a self-interested Tory, out for the betterment of himself and people like him, but that he is actively working against the interests of the country on behalf of a hostile foreign power.
Chindie Posted July 22, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted July 22, 2020 Cummings isn't a Tory. He wants the destruction of the existing political norms and structures. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing on paper, but he's got particularly grim ideas with what to replace it with and his motivation behind it is questionable. ... It is remarkable how all these characters have some Russian miles on the clock isn't it?
Davkaus
This is what you get after 10 years of tory rule. https://inews.co.uk/news/dwp-benefits-stopped-grandmother-terminal-cancer-died-three-stone-558875 Quote A grandmother had her disability benefits stopped four months before she died of lung cancer weighing around three stone. House-bound Christine McCluskey had suffered long-term health problems most of her adult life including Crohn’s disease – which left her with a colostomy bag – osteoporosis, arthritis, a stroke and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The 61-year-old had a feeding tube and at the time her benefits were assessed and axed she had a painful fistula that leaked through her abdominal wall, she was severely malnourished and was being investigated for a worrying cough. The i newsletter cut through the noise But the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) decided to remove the £117.85 in Personal Independence Payments (PIP) she had received for years, along with her mobility car. How many stories do we need to see like this? We lock down the nation and throw tens of billions at Covid, quite rightly, but the DWP has how many deaths on its hands? A society that doesn't look after its most vulnerable is worth **** all. Pricks? Not even slightly strong enough. Shove your brexit, trident, and identity politics up your arse. None of it matters when the government is continually failing in its most basic duty. Edited July 22, 2020 by Davkaus
