Villanun Posted August 22, 2015 Share Posted August 22, 2015 I don't think we've looked in any danger of conceding, but we haven't really looked like much danger of scoring either. Gestede's contribution has been poor, but his best chance of scoring seems to me to be from a corner, and unless we get some better delivery that isn't going to happen. Posted August 22, 2015 Moderator Share Posted August 22, 2015 Despite the fact Gabby has missed a good chance and had a quite frankly comically bad touch there, I think he's giving us a lot more than Gestede at the moment - I can't see him coming off, he's our biggest threat. I realise that the threat of Gabby getting into great positions with good running is Gabby being on the end of those runs, but it is our biggest threat. Gestede is crap unless we deliver him perfect chances. Despite us playing with very attacking full backs, we really aren't crossing enough to justify having a striker who can only head the ball. I'm not sure whether we're crossing it enough or whether he's just no winning it - he lost every aerial duel against United and he's not won much today. That said, I'd leave the front two as it is. Ayew for Gestede before too long, also, 'cause he doesn't look fit enough Grealish looks excellent - if we find the right forward combo in front of him, we'll be flying.
