So what if during the 1st four years I built 20 solid gold training complexes, in sought after locations around the world, all in the clubs name and all written off at the time by shareholders.

Then for the next 20 years I sold one off every season to the tune of £100m, which I then spent on players and wages?

The only thing that appears to be relaxed is UEFA FFP, we would still only be allowed lose £105m over 3 years in the Premier League (from what I am seeing), however there are definitely ways around this, see Man Citys Ethiad deal.

@issassin @jmhart1 @JulieBayleyIFA @Dpn76 @AVFCTransTweet Have just been told that effectively 'the ball's now in Villa's court' #ownership

This is from that professor guy on twitter who's been banging on about Chinese ownership for months. Who knows, hope we haven't got a buyer and Randy's holding out for more.

Been involved in a conversation with the sport business professor who originally claimed Chinese interest. Says the 'ball is in Villa's court', whatever that means.

I think this does mean it's Chinese though, that guy specialises and has contacts primarily in the Chinese market if i'm not mistaken.

If he is correct in that he knows who the frontrunning bidders are, then it must be the Chinese, yeah.

According to the 20+ ITK's over on TBAR it's a consortium of Howard Hodgson backed by Chinese money with a former villa player or Larry Ellison. Mmmm

It would just our luck that with FFP potentially being slackened we get new buyers who want to grow organically and refuse to splurge £100mill this summer. Yay ?!

I honestly believe there's more chance of Prince William convincing his Nan to take a punt on us.

Yes one thing we can be pretty certain of is that Randy and co would have run the financial side properly in terms of transparency and without anything dodgy going on. Under him we have always seemed to do business the right way, even if it's not been successful on the pitch. Hopefully this will get done a lot quicker than six weeks if they're offering an amount that Randy finds acceptable.

I wish those lot would stop pushing this. There was never any connection between Larry Ellison and Villa whatsoever - people just heard there were Americans interested last summer and plucked his name out because he's ultra-rich and that's who they want.

Robin Bairner ‏@RBairner

Interesting report on FFP in Le Parisien. It claims Uefa will allow new owners four years free spending before FFP kicks in. (1/2)

Robin Bairner ‏@RBairner

However, this would only applies to clubs taken over in future ie. not #PSG, Monaco or Man City. Would leave Uefa open to legal action (2/2)

PL FFP is different of course but seems some changes are happening.

We'd still have to be careful because we could have four great years but then be left with a wage bill that doesn't meet FFP afterwards.

Well you'd give out the contracts accordingly.

First year give the best players in the world 4 year contracts, following year 3 years deals for new signings, following year 2 year deals..

By then if you havent broken the champions league start buying sensibly and all the big earners will disappear along with the FFP kick in.
