And it's Aston Virra, Aston Virra FC

That's a bit lacist.
If we're going to have Chinese owners, this important point should be made and taken on board by one and all:

Chinese people do NOT get confused between L and R sounds. It's a popular misconception, because Korean people and Japanese people do.

I learned this recently, because there was a story in the news about Christine Kirchner, the Argentine prime minister, who made a joke about Chinese people and L and R on Twitter, and got ridiculed. Search Engine is your fliend.

Experience says different. My wife had a (Hong Kong) Chinese colleague, who - despite having been to high school in Britain - frequently pronounced 'R's as 'L's. Edited by mjmooney

Ain't nobody got time for "facts", when engaging in casual racism!

Wang Jianlin's only just invested a load of money into athletico Madrid in January. £32m investment for 20% stake Apparantly.

He already has 3 teams in Spain that he deals with on Chinese/football matters.

Makes me doubt it is actually him...

Yeah but maybe he wants to own a proper club.

Possibly. Altho althletico are a top side in Spain. They had developed debt issues which he has eased.

If he was interested in buying villa the ball would have been rolling since Dec/Jan at least. Buying a stake into another club isn't what I'd expect a potential buyer to be doing...

Unless he's got more money than I thought and it makes no difference to him how many clubs he buys...

He wanted to buy AC Milan but they've valued themselves at €1bn. He still might buy a share in them though.

He also bought a Swiss sports marketing group a couple of months ago, had his first visit there last week in fact. The fella is football crazy.

how rich is Chen Feng?

From what I've seen he doesn't disclose his companies profits, so nobody really knows for sure. His company owns a fair few big companies though, so I'm assuming he's worth a few billion

how rich is Chen Feng?

Internet article says:

Chen now chairs HNA Group, a closely held global transport, logistics, retail, property, tourism and financial services empire that reported revenue of US$17.5 billion and pre-tax profits of US$837 million for 2012.

Among its US$58 billion worth of assets: a New York office tower, a Spanish hotel group, a French airline and controlling stakes in 10 companies listed on the mainland and Hong Kong exchanges.

"Chen's smart, brave and a gambler," says Albert Louie, founder of Hong Kong-based consulting firm A. Louie Associates, who advises foreign investors in China. "He's also politically well connected, and unlike China's internet entrepreneurs, he isn't in industries that the government might consider threatening to Communist Party control."

Chen has spent more than US$3 billion on foreign acquisitions in the past six years alone. His biggest bet was the US$1.05 billion purchase in 2011 of GE Seaco, the world's fifth-biggest container-leasing company, from General Electric. Such deals would make HNA Group, if publicly traded, one of the world's top 250 companies by assets, according to data.

Jack Ma is another Chinese business man who's been investing in soccer and related businesses recently. Whether he wants to expand into the UK i've got no idea. But he's another who's met with Prince William recently.
