2015 Takeover Thread

Like everyone else, I just want our new owners to be rich. But I do like the idea of having Chinese owners.

As many have said, the potential to tap into the East is massive. With a bit of clever and aggressive marketing, if a new club gains popularity over there, you'd imagine there's a great opportunity for outside investment (whether it simply being 'Aston Villa is affiliated with company X,Y&Z' or having an Asian based TV channel showing Villa interviews etc (like AVTV). Those are just first thoughts, but you get the picture).

Rich chinese owners will do :)

Who are Genting owned by? The sponsored us before have taken over the casinos of brum and are building that massive casino leisure hotel and shopping complex at the NEC.

Seems like they investing a lot in brum and would have to have backers to build something like that!?

Been speaking to somebody who knows about this sort of shit.

He thinks a solid offer is on the table, thus the offer being exclusive. Sale will go through as long as the books/information given is exactly as stated and there are no hidden issues. He thinks if the person is 'of good money', it could take as little as two weeks - but could be more if not.

The Economist called him "a man of Napoleonic ambition", and citing his military background in the PLA, where he rose from border guard to regimental commander. He enforces "iron discipline" in the workplace, where employees are fined when they violate the company's conservative dress code. Despite his age, he has a "trim figure

A quote from the economist on Wang Jianlin's Wikipedia page. He's head of the Dalian Group. I'm sure most of you will have read it by now, but he does seem like the kind of person we need.

The good thing is that we're moving towards getting a takeover done with plenty of time left to sort out any potential transfers. Obviously it's questionable what the new owners will be handing out in terms of fees (if anything) but it's close your eyes and hope for the best time for me!

Kim Jong-un should buy us.

Can guarantee everyone would give 100% on the pitch. We'd win everything for fear of execution.

In North Korea we won the FA cup final 98-0.

Winning every game upwards of 80-0 would also be a big advantage.

You do have to wanda if our potential new Chinese owners will know what is required to run a Premier League club.

I appreciate that Randy has erased the debt, got the accounts in the black, bean careful to source the right new owners.

The new owners would have to invest £30m and dim sum to get us challenging again, but who knows we could be looking at qualifying for Europe by the time spring rolls around. That would certainly be sweet, and sour tasting for our rivals.

You might think I'm crackers, but who knows what our fortune might bring?

 Very good.

To be honest, from that capsule summary, he seems like a complete arsehole, but as long as he doesn't change the clubs' name or colours I'll get over it.

EDIT: If it's even him of course, which it may very well not be.

And it's Aston Virra, Aston Virra FC

That's a bit lacist.

If we're going to have Chinese owners, this important point should be made and taken on board by one and all:

Chinese people do NOT get confused between L and R sounds. It's a popular misconception, because Korean people and Japanese people do.

I learned this recently, because there was a story in the news about Christine Kirchner, the Argentine prime minister, who made a joke about Chinese people and L and R on Twitter, and got ridiculed. Search Engine is your fliend.
