DCJonah
And all answers that actually show managers are important. Like the answer that the best teams get the best managers just because they can. Not because they need to.
Keyblade
If the owner is everything why didn't man city go out and get any cheap manager? Why did man u collapse the minute fergie left? How are Everton consistently up there? You're going from one extreme to another. The owner isn't everything, but neither is the manager.
DCJonah
That original post said the influence of the owner on success was 90% and the manager 10%. Is that not extreme?

DCJonah
So man city don't need a good manager they just get one because they can? And Everton built up success because of time? Nothing to do with Moyes and Martinez?
GENTLEMAN
It is very unlikely Lambert will be fired IMO. We might as well start preparing for the championship then It can be argued Lerner has been doing exactly that over the last four years. useless
Randy isn't going to give him a four year extension and then because we lose to Arsenal, Everton, Chelsea and Man City, think actually I'll sack him. If it's still looking bad once November is over with then maybe there might be a slight chance, probably depends on how much of a say Fox has. Well maybe he should knock about 30m off the asking price now before it is too late. We wont be worth anywhere near what we are now if we get relegated, all our players lose value and we would be done over by clubs for Guzan & Benteke. AshVilla
Having possession when your 1 - 0 down and passing it across the back four constantly then back to Guzan does not count Time after time against Everton and QPR we looked devoid of ideas and had zero urgency in our play
Brumstopdogs
Lambert is an absolute tool " everybody in the club the fans the players need to pull together" fck off idiot you are a disgrace of a manager. Maybe if Lambert after 3 years had assembled a team worthy of wearing Aston Villa shirts the fans would be behind him. Also, the performances on the whole have just not been good enough. Get rid now. AndyM3000
With regards to possession football I thought we were in control of the game v QPR without ever looking dangerous ourselves but that's what you want from it. We want to make sure if we aren't going play that well that we keep the ball and then we can at least try and nick something. QPR had one shot for the entire first 65 and due to terrible defending and a very good finish they scored from it but I thought we actually controlled the game and didn't look under pressure. Imagine what might have happened if QPR had 60% possession like the other games where we got hammered. We aren't used to having the ball and we don't have the players capable of breaking teams down or creating much so we just as bad with it as we are without it at the moment. Weimann needs dropping for someone that can offer us more than just running around like a headless chicken in these types of games. In fact I take back that last bit, we do have players capable of breaking teams down but they aren't used, we play the same players in the same system over and over again. They don't at all, with the possible exception of fergie at utd. Yeah, why do we even bother wasting money to hire a manager in the first place? May as well just let the team get on with it themselves, we'll finish exactly where our wage-bill dictates anyway.

Must be why we hammered Leyton Orient, Bradford and Millwall - those super giants of the game with our expansive passing football. Woeful beyond belief!
