The_Lions_Roar
If only we'd of got ole Gunnar eh?Yeah we've been really lucky to have the 2 years we've had. OGS is doing a poor job at Cardiff but it might have been different with a full pre season and a better squad when we were linked with him. Oooooooook then. Where's the better squad come from? Would ole of not had to replace the squad?

markavfc40
Solskjaer isn't ready to manage a Prem club now and certainly wasn't 20 months ago when we were sniffing around him. The guy has managed at a level in Norway that is the equivalent to League One over here. It would have been madness to have appointed him and we'd have been playing Championship football now had we have done.
Electric Avenue
I didn't want OGS then and I wouldn't now. Same can be said for Lambert. His CV shows no qualifications suitable to be managing Aston Villa FC. And so it's proving.
Mantis
Whether or not you think Lambert is good enough for Villa is a different debate but I don't really see how he doesn't have the suitable "qualifications" to manage the club? What exact "qualifications" to Villa managers need then? John Gregory had done a lot less in his managerial career before taking the Villa job but he did a good job here, in fact he's arguably our best manager since the turn of the century. jacketspuds
Someone who I think could do a job in the Premier League is Neil Lennon. Linked with Norwich if they lose today. Seems to have an eye for a player having signed the likes of Wanyama, Ki, Forster and Van Dijk. I think we have gone backwards since the end of last season and would welcome a new manager in the summer.

I'm not sure whether i'd want him at Villa. Just think he'd do well in the league.
Dale
I like him. Think he should stay. Football quality is up and down and save for bad luck against Liverpool (where the football was anything but turgid) and Cardiff we'd be well clear now...
VillaChris
I'd fully boycott if we ever appointed Lennon as manager. Total word removed and anyone can look good at Celtic, particularly with Rangers out of the equation let's not forget.
foreveryoung
After watching the Newcastle game I can see it will be McLeish style football for the rest of the season. Lambert is just happy to stay up this season and I doubt we will see much attacking intent from now on. Cheers Lambert!!

Dr_Pangloss
Lambert has assembled one of the worst teams we've had in the premier league, although when Lerner gives him the sort of 'budget' he has you can't exactly expect quality to come him. It's a poor state of affairs really. We are a side of low quality plodders.
jacketspuds
Just go. You are as bad as McLeish.
NurembergVillan Posted February 23, 2014 Moderator Share Posted February 23, 2014 Lots of managers have been sacked for far, far less than Lambert has got away with in the last year and a half.

foreveryoung
Why ohh why bring Bennett on. Even Gentleman will find it hard to defend you today. Finish this season off an get out of our club. He is no better than the man he replaced. No idea today tactically just no f**** idea!!!
Big_John_10
What is the future under this guy? The idea that all we need is a couple of quality signings in the summer is laughable. This squad is shit.
