Djemba_Villan
Oh poo. This undoubtedly means when Irvine is given the boot Pulis will be there to swoop in and hoof the olbyun to safety. Not sure, they hate him for some reason.
Mantis
Can we please not have another thread hijacked by this Bannan trolling? It's really getting tedious.
villa4europe
Twitter rumours are that the bloke who spends the money was pinching pennies to try and spunk it all on Zaha, a player pulis didn't want, at the same time not releasing funds for him to buy the players he does want
Rob182
It sounds like Parish wants too much to do with the footballing/ transfer decisions, which no manager will like. He's like Abramovich, but without the money.

Zatman
this is great news for Villa anyway. They need a firefighter, could it be Eck? they are a team with obviously no ambition so would fit in

rodders0223
I am seeing many Villa folk on the facebooks and what not begging for Lambert to be sacked and Pulis to be hired. I would rather be relegated to league 2 before I see this guys brand of 'football' at Villa Park.
rodders0223
Wow. Just wow. Palace are ****. They've got goalscorers. Are there any promoted teams who wouldn't take Murray and Gayle? Oh yes, and this year they've got Frazier Campbell. They're gonna score goals, and Bannan will deliver the goods. Just need the right manager. None of those players has scored goals in the PL, Campbell flopped at Sunderland and Cardiff at PL level, Gayle had about 2 good games last year, Murray is hugely unproven despite that one season he had. Oh, and Bannan is shite
Zatman
more the attitude I wouldn't want. We don't want another tosser that walks out the week before start of season for not getting his way
Zatman
There was story at the end of last season about him swapping jobs with Pardew and in that article it said he had strained relationship with Palace chairman so maybe it's something to do with that. I bet it won't be long before he gets a new job. Apparently it's because he couldnt sign Connor Wickham. Newcastle fans couldn't tolerate Big Sam or Souness. I don't think Pulis would be much better in style of play

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I can see one of the promoted teams getting a little jumpy around New Year and hiring him. Or West Ham. Edited August 15, 2014 by CarewsEyebrowDesigner
TrinityRoadSteps
I can see one of the promoted teams getting a little jumpy around New Year and hiring him. Or West Ham. That would please their fans no end. Considering the uproar about Fat Sam. So for that reason alone I hope it happens
Popular Post markavfc40
I am seeing many Villa folk on the facebooks and what not begging for Lambert to be sacked and Pulis to be hired. I would rather be relegated to league 2 before I see this guys brand of 'football' at Villa Park. I am not sure what brand of football you think we have been playing under Lambert but it hasn't been pretty. We have some of the worst possession stats in the division and the norm last season quickly became a few sideways passes in midfield before eventually panicking, playing it back to one of the centre backs or Guzan and then hoofing it forward. We were clueless. Pulis brand of football isn't pretty but has been effective. Under McLeish and Lambert the football has in the main been dire and ineffective. In fact the football under O’Neill some would argue wasn't pretty but was at least more often than not effective. This is not to say I would want Pulis at our club by the way it is just that I don’t think we are in a position to look down our noses at the type of football his teams often dish up given the tripe we have been serving up. As for Palace/Pulis it is clear that Parish wants way too much involvement in team affairs and any manager will only put up with that for so long especially one whose stock is as high as it has probably ever been. Pulis will be back in work by Christmas at a Prem club that is struggling and looking for someone to make an immediate impact.
Zatman
think Pulis would probably struggle here though. We don't really have any physical players or even wingers to adapt his tactics
PieFacE Posted August 15, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted August 15, 2014 So many Villa fans on twitter saying get Pullis in. The bloke has just left Crystal Palace due to their transfer policy, why on earth would he consider coming to Villa with that in mind?

BG_Villa_Fan
even if he won them a trophy i wouldnt another t0$$er that walks out on his team a couple days before season starts like mon did complete cowards attitude So what should a manager do when the chairman doesn't allow him to get the players he wants because he's decided to spend the budget on someone the manager doesn't want ( allegedly )? Con
Last season Campbell got 6 league goals for Cardiff. That's not bad at all in a struggling side. He could get 10 goals this season. Dwight Gayle got 7 goals for Palace last time out. He's young and very sharp and will be sold to a bigger club probably after this season. I expect 15 goals is his target. Glenn Murray has all the attributes to be a great Premier League striker. Like Rickey Lambert he's worked his way up through the divisions scoring all the way. Last season he came back from a bad injury. This is his season to show what he can do. Another 15 goals. So the team should break 40 goals in the league and if they can keep Joel Ward and Mile Jedinak they should be reasonably organised defensively.
