omariqy
Agree, it shouldnt be about him. I have no idea re money but the investment guys involved would be used to being involved in this size of money I imagine. The football guys would have the contacts to get a good infastructure at the club. In my opinion it will not go anywhere though and if it does it will probably be 6 to 12 months before anything happens.

Cliffy Biro
So basically nearly 2 months down the line we still have nothing from the newspapers/sites and just the odd ITK on here and twitter? If i was to bet on it i'd probably guess we'll start the season with Lerner and 2-3 months in we'll be taken over.

Can't see anybody buying us in January, although I suppose it depends on our league position at the time. I'm weary and unsure but I still hope something will pull through before the season begins. If it doesn't, I think we'll go down.
Cliffy Biro
We could well go down anyway, were starting with the same manager and squad + a few average/poor frees. I can't see it being January either which is why i thought 2-3 months into the season around November but what do i know i'm just speculating. It just seems to me that we're nowhere near being taken over and i'd guess that at the moment there's probably just 2 or 3 tentative enquiry's and nothing more solid than that. AValon
Omariqy, do you know what people he is meeting with? If so do they have the sort of funds that can move us forwarded. Not looking for a sugar daddy but someone/s who can make us competitive in the league. Its not whether they have the funds, as in do they have the funds and are willing to regularly dip into them in exchange for zero return?

KSV
We are so farked. My god what has happened to this club. Why on earth did Randy come out with that statement. I cannot even fathom why he would make that statement unless it was a done deal. To shut up a few rumours? Theres always been rumours leave it like that. We are in limbo now and if anyone is really interested they are best to wait a little while longer as Randy gets really desperate and agrees a lower price. He really has no business sense. Usually you just ignore it and don't make any official announcements until the time is right. In this case it would be when a takeover is complete/very close. It does not help him publicly stating the club is for sale. Any potential buyer would have already have known the club is for sale. All he has done is create uncertainty with potential players coming in, media circus, probably affect season ticket sales/sponsors and would ultimately lower his asking price as they would know he is desperate now. Just goes to show why this club is where it is when he has been in charge of it.
smetrov
Aparently Beyonce earn't £2m per night from her recent tour .......and gues how many nights her tour was ? - you guessed it.....100 ! - so she has netted £200m - and the asking price for Aston Villa ?????? £200m... I love it when a plan comes together ......remember where you heard it first....,
DCJonah
Howard Hodgson has posted a fairly detailed plan on TBAR. I had a productive meeting yesterday with Legion Worldwide. They are a specialist corporate finance house and have a lot of focus/clients who invest in sporting franchises/clubs.. They want me to front a bid and asked if I'd be interested. They would be no fortune to spend like Man City or Chelsea but good funding and a focus on top management, scouting and coaching. We left the meeting excited and all in agreement it was something we would like to progress but at this stage it was only a preliminary meeting. Now the hard work starts to find the necessary investors/investment. They have strong worldwide contacts who invest in all sorts of sports clubs/franchises and they do see Villa as an opportunity run right. As stated it wouldn't be at the levels of Man City or Chelsea but good budget to buy players. Similar to Southampton model with the hope really shrewd management can get us back up there. Thomas Tuchel mentioned as a manager that could be targeted to work with a technical director. Open and honest communication with the fans and an appetite to do things right and play the right brand of football Beauty is all infrastructure in place Stadium, BMH.. Just needs a management team throughout club inc scouts that know what they are doing coupled with reasonable finance that will be nurtured and spent wisely.. Not wasted to the levels that Lerner's money has, that is for sure. If this happens then great. If it kick starts other bids and gets the process moving again then that is good news also. All I want, like any Villa fan is to get the club in the right hands and be given a fair chance to compete and be run properly once more. I am sure the vast majority of supporters are grateful for at least my proactive movement in trying to help get the club sorted. Time is of the essence as as things stand we are in trouble and I haven't seen anything happen in the close season thus far that will see us buck the trend of our form in the last 24 games of last season which delivered just 19 points which is blatant relegation form. This is likely to be my last communication on this as if it is to be pursued then I will shortly have to sign a Non Disclosure agreement. If it doesn't then I'll be back!

samjp26
Why should anybody be 'grateful'? Grateful for what? For having a meeting and mentioning somebody you'd like to be manager? With no investors or investment it is all very pointless.

TrentVilla Posted July 1, 2014 Moderator Share Posted July 1, 2014 Numerous posts removed and warnings to follow. Yet again, this thread is about any takeover news or speculation. It is not about next season, next season's budgets, players attitudes or approaches or anything else. If it isn't directly related to the takeover or attempted sale of the club as it perhaps should be then please don't post it in here.
Rugeley Villa
I read in this book the other day that when we nearly went bump in the late 60s,an american buy out was on the cards then. Don't seem like there is a lot happening at the moment
