First 20 minutes was key. Pep got the tactics wrong not starting Mandzukic. Bayern failed to score and ran out of effective ideas in the final third. An effective idea would have been to use the dominance of the flanks to get it to Mandzukic to knock down or head in.

Even so, a fairly easy draw, away goal, and Bayern will be much better in the second leg. Home advantage and Man Utd have to score so they can't sit and defend. That could be the game where this Man Utd team gets crushed.

Footballer saves opponent's life in Ukrainian league

FC Dnipro's Jaba Kankava saves the life of Dynamo Kyiv's Oleh Gusev after he was knocked unconscious in a Ukrainian Premier League match.

Gusev was choking on his tongue after a clash with Dnipro's goalkeeper when Kankava rushed to his aid and prevented the player from suffocating before medical staff could treat him.

Gusev eventually stood up before he was carried off the pitch on a stretcher and Dnipro went on to win the match 2-0.

I saw this.

And whilst it's very admirable, I couldn't help thinking he probably wouldn't have been choking on his tongue if the guy didn't immediately roll him onto his back?
