smetrov Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Are we the only the only intelligent race in the universe .....or is the universe so vast that be the laws of probability there must be another civilisation out there somewhere..... I actually think that despite the calculations - it is just us ....we are alone....
Wainy316 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 We're not alone but never have and probably never will be visited.
AVFCforever1991 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 We're not alone but never have and probably never will be visited.
snowychap Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 To quote Mr Idle, let's pray there's intelligent life somewhere up in space because there's bugger all down here on earth.
heid3ster Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Seems like the odds have to be that in a universe so vast, there must be some other form of life out there somewhere. However, given just how vast the universe is, it also seems unlikely that we'll ever run into each other.
StefanAVFC Posted March 27, 2014 VT Supporter Posted March 27, 2014 I'm fairly sure Gove isn't from this planet. 2
coda Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I think we're being watched in our development. Contact has not been made because our puny human minds are currently incapable of dealing with it.
Rugeley Villa Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I'm pretty sure we aint alone. There is just to much evidence to suggest otherwise
Electric Avenue Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 In the universe no. With over a billion planets we are not alone
turnbull Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I think we're being watched in our development. Contact has not been made because our puny human minds are currently incapable of dealing with it. Thing is, even an alien could see that this team isn't the finished article yet. They'd probably be more tactically astute than Lambo though. Maybe Culverhouse is one and is just waiting for the right time to MF the manager and turn Villa into Champions League material. Or maybe not. 1
troon_villan Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 The clever people are getting cleverer but the stupid people are getting stupider. Our own planet hangs in the balance at the moment. I mean, people don't even know how spell simple words anymore! 1
saturdaygig Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 To me, it seem preposterous and rather self obsesssed to imagine that life has appeared so abundantly here on earth, and yet nowhere else. Even if the conditions required for life are vanishingly rare, that still makes for millions of available planets. Plus of course, it might be that all sorts of different forms of life can evolve in entirely different conditions, although perhaps so different we wouldn't recognise it as life. Outside of our visible spectrum, for instance.
useless Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 If every star has a solar system which maybe it doesn't and the nearest star to earth is 80,000 years away using voyager speeds. We'll probably never know.
Nigel Posted March 27, 2014 VT Supporter Posted March 27, 2014 Considering the sheer amount of options it is practically impossible that we are alone in the universe. That saying, its practically impossible that we will ever meet.
