Isa
I completely disagree. Lowton was the messiah last season, so if he gets back to that form, he'd be a damn sight better than Bacuna, who's worst attribute seems to be his defending. This can't be serious can it? Lowton certainly can't defend. He was just not as bad as the other defenders last season (not saying much) which made him look better in this respect then he actually is.
Cliffy Biro
How ridiculous is that, the lad had an amazing season and its put down to him actually being just ok because the rest of the defence was so bad it made him look better than he was? Makes absolutely zero sense either. Other players on the pitch playing good or bad doesn't change my opinion on how a different player in the team has performed. mikeyp102
I hope we have someone in before arsenal. It will lift the crowd an give some optimism. Lets face it on a cold miserable Monday night having just lost to lower league opposition and about to face the league leaders we aren't likely to be in a very optimistic mood.

Yep he had a great season, most people not just villa fans agreed with that but your entitled to your opinion, last bit just made me chuckle though but not in a good way.

Villan4Life
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/452044/Kidderminster-0-Peterborough-0-Joe-Lolley-is-a-pest-for-Posh Kidderminster boss Steve Burr admits he’ll sell his top scorer if the lolly is right and after his latest supershow he can expect the phone to start ringing. Ex-student Lolley, 21, has been Kiddy’s star turn since they snapped him up in the summer after he’d scored 88 goals in only 83 games for Midland Combination side Littleton. Only Posh keeper Bobby Olejnik stopped him adding another goal to his growing reputation. Posh came into their own after the break with 17-goal Britt Assombalonga denied his fifth FA Cup strike of the season when Danny Lewis got a hand to his point-blank header.

I expected Benteke, Lowton, Westwood and Weimann all to improve this season after a good season last year but they have all gone backwards? If it was one player out of the four this could be understandable but all of last seasons top performers going backwards? There is something seriously wrong in the club iMO and a few lucky results are papering over the serious problem we have long term.

These players have maybe lost the drive and adrenaline they had last season when it was all new to them. Maybe they have relaxed a little over the summer thinking they've made it and now complacency has set in.

Maybe they have relaxed a little over the summer thinking they've made it and now complacency has set in. But surely a large part of the managers job is to ensure that this does not happen? OK Lambert has overseen the cutting of the wage bill and kept us up last season. Plus in the second half of last season we played some decent football and posted some decent results. What has gone so wrong this season though with the style of play? We are at this point 11th which iMO is a false position because of a couple of very lucky wins and there being some truly awful teams this year. I am worried where we will be in May because I do not have any confidence that there is a team in the league who we can beat. The whole team seems scared of the ball and devoid of ideas. Lambert must take responsibility for this?

I think it's only Lambert's negative tactics that are preventing Lowton from showing us the same performances as last season when most of his best work was done in the opposition half. Which he rarely sets foot in now. As instructed. So may as well stick Bacuna RB and play to Lowton's strengths going forward.

I'd hate to think people thought I was singling out Lowton. I was just disputing the original point that Lowton is a far better defender than Bacuna which he isn't. Bacuna seems to be a free kick specialist and very little else. He is a penalty waiting to happen at right back.
