Don Amott is/was a caravan dealer. He had an annoying advert on Central that seemed to be on every commercial break.  It had a ridulously catchy tune.

It's still in Derby, annoying website.

Don Amott, king of caravans, the price is right and the choice is yours

Two things made me feel old today:

- I saw my samurai sword in the loft, I brought it home from Florida as carry on baggage.

- my kid asked me what MTV is

Dia katana?

It’s your one stop shop, we’ve got the lot

A friend of mine once won an expenses paid holiday in Mexico, by suggesting that exact line as a slogan for ASDA.

Do you remember,

‘my names Barry Noble, welcome to my Astoria’

‘Get yourselves in now’

(Thick Geordie accent)

Used to love it. When did it stop becoming good? Late 90s?

Didn’t it just become lots of Geordie Shore type shows? I remember it being great having MTV Europe on Eutlsat as my Dad had it pre-sky, only place I could ever really get Rock videos.

One of the worst things ever to happen to music, and a classic example of why the 80s was shit.

You aren't old unless -

You ran outside to see the Goodyear Airship.

You know the Blue Ridge Mountains are in Virgina and know exactly why you know that.

You followed a Villa match by waiting for the score to update on Teletext.

You know the phone number 01 811 8055.

You can sing "Don Amott - King of Caravans".

You used a thin, crumbling slab of asbestos at school for safety reasons.

You had pop delivered.

You spent your dinner money on Defender.

You have eaten Findus Crispy Pancakes.

You recorded the Top 40 on cassette trying very hard not to record the DJ talking over the record.

I score 10/10.

I score 2/10 and turn 32 tomorrow (ceefax not teletext though, and recording the chart show)
