  1. But he wasn't dominated against RB Leipzig, the 3rd best team in Germany. Leipzig are better or as good as at least 50% of the PL. I have no doubt that Luiz and Nakamba will start at DM once they have been integrated into the squad. But currently Hourihane is the best option, and his set pieces alone are worthwhile including as he showed on Saturday.
  2. There's absolutely no need to redevelop Villa Park or build a new stadium right now. If we can sustain the interest and the numbers through the door at Villa Park for 2-3 seasons then I'm sure it will start to be looked at. Currently there's huge demand for tickets, but over the last 3 seasons in the Championship and before that in the dismal PL seasons our average attendances haven't warranted expansion at all. I'm interested to see (not that I want it to happen) if results go against us for a period this season how the attendances react. We have a pretty fickle fanbase at times and the owners would have to be sure an investment in expansion would be worth the money.
  3. Heaton Guilbert Engels Mings Targett Hourihane McGinn Grealish Jota Wesley El Ghazi Personally want to see this on Saturday. If El Ghazi is injured then Trezeguet can come in for him with no issues. Hourihane at DM for me, set pieces are going to be important this season. Nakamba can come on second half if it isn't working. This game will come too soon for Luiz so not sure why people are including him.
  4. You can clearly see the difference between Heaton and Steer. Not knocking Steer as he was brilliant last season, but Heaton is a fantastic shot stopper as well as being commanding in the area.
  5. Hourihane needs dropping, no way can he play against Spurs.
  6. Some of the comments about Hourihane are embarrasing. Give your heads a wobble. Thought we had moved past this.
  7. I guess any add on's won't be paid in the first 12 months and so we dont have to factor them into 2018/19 FFP.
  8. McBurnie just signed for Sheffield United. Leaves us free to sign Maupay unless we have someone else lined up.
  9. Tough but I would have to say Michael Jordan. Watch the below video, he was just phenomenal.
  10. England Wales Scotland Republic of Ireland Iceland Spain France Belgium Netherlands Norway Croatia Egypt Zimbabwe DR Congo Ivory Coast Brazil
  11. We don't need him unless we are planning on letting Lansbury go.
  12. So much talk in here last night on how the overhaul is a risk and should have been phased over multiple transfer windows. Realistically we haven't changed a huge amount from Wembley. Steer Elmo Tuanzebe Mings Taylor Hourihane McGinn Grealish Adomah Abraham El Ghazi The highlighted players will most likely miss out on the first game of the season, yet 3 of the 6 are still in the squad. Heaton Elmo Engels Mings Targett Nakamba McGinn Grealish Jota Wesley El Ghazi It's not a huge change, and other clubs will have similar changes to their first team going into the new season. The difference we have is squad depth and the players fighting for first team spots are largely different to last season; but in a good way. There was no point keeping players like Elphick, Whelan, Jedinak & Adomah if they don't fit into what Smith wants from them. Even if the new players start off slowly they are likely to still do a similar job to those we have let go.
  13. One of the better teams we played in our time in the Championship. They ripped us apart on numerous occasions.
  14. Website now say's Sold Out
  15. If we were to get at least 6 points each month we would end the season on around 54 points. Last season that would have got an 8th position finish.
  16. Let's hope so! I'm hoping from his style of play he turns out to be our Kante / Gueye / Makelele
  17. I disagree, if it turns out we have bought a bunch of duds there will be many complaints. I'm confident we have gone about things the right way this time though.
  18. Agreed, and I really hope you are right. It's the first summer transfer window where you can see the plan and the signings fitting together. On the pitch is where it will count though. And if it does Suso deserves all the plaudits that will come his way.
